Turkey in 1961. Worker migration to Germany becomes hope for people
who leave their country for different reasons. The migrant workers who
are away from their own lifestyle, tradition, customs, habits and who are
in touch with other different cultures become to be named as “other” in
the society. The guest workers who have different problems as language
learning, cultural shocks, identity problems, write their thoughts and
feelings under the Migrant Literature. Bekir Yıldız is the one of the
writers in the field of the Migrant Literature. Because of having seen the
oppression and persecution in his own land, Yıldız went to Germany
through the labor migration agreement, and he took a crack living in a
different country with different problems. “German Bread” is one of his
books that is about his experience as a migrant worker in Germany. In
this study, it is intended to be handled the social problems and
challenges of the guest workers by rendering Yıldız’s “German Bread”.
