In this paper, a scheme for automated grading of mango (Mangifera Indica L.) according to maturity level in terms of actual-days-to-rot and quality attributes, such as size, shape, and surface defect has been proposed. The proposed scheme works on intelligent machine vision-based techniques for grading of mangoes in four different categories, which are determined on the basis of market distance and market value. In this system, video image is captured by a charge couple device camera placed on the top of a conveyer belt carrying mangoes, thereafter several image processing techniques are applied to collect features, which are sensitive to the maturity and quality. For maturity prediction in terms of actual-days-to-rot, support vector regression has been employed and for the estimation of quality from the quality attributes, multiattribute decision making system has been adopted. Finally, fuzzy incremental learning algorithm has been used for grading based on maturity and quality. The performance accuracy achieved using this proposed system for grading of mango fruit is nearly 87%. Moreover, the repeatability of the proposed system is found to be 100%.

It has been touted as 'king of all fruits' but has also been described as a 'ball of tow soaked in turpentine and molasses' by critics. Unfortunately, in the commercial market, the quality of "the king of all fruits" is grossly justified by the human beings depending upon their reorganization experience for the purpose of food industries or personal ingestion. By digital image processing, we are confined only in determining the pattern due to Red, Green and Blue parameters of a mango noninvasively in its successive stages of maturation. In this proceeding, we implemented fuzzy rule based mechanism as well as Fuzzy C-means clustering analysis to cluster the data produced by the image and to form distinguishable surface colour pattern. Rule based is modified to generate a particular grade to a particular section like apex, equator or stalk at a time using if-then rules. Then all the grades are analyzed to construct clusters with centroids depending the Euclidean distances between data and centroids. Iteration processed the cluster analysis until stabilized centroids are not formed corresponding to the pattern of samples. .

It is comprised of a combination of electrical/electronic devices/equipments working together to detect the presence of fire and alert people through audio or visual medium after detection. These alarms may be activated from smoke detectors or heat detectors which, when detects fire. Then, it automatically operates a relay which can be used to send Short Message Service (SMS) to the registered mobile numbers and switch on a water sprayer or a Solenoid Pump to spray water or fire ceasing foam.

The application of machine vision based system, aimed to replace manual based technique for grading and sorting of fruit. The manual inspection poses problems in maintaining consistency in grading and uniformity in sorting. To speed up the process as well as maintain the consistency, uniformity and accuracy, a prototype computer vision based automatic mango grading and sorting system was developed. The automated system collect video image from the CCD camera placed on the top of a conveyer belt carrying mangoes, then it process the images in order to collects several relevant features which are sensitive to the maturity level of the mango. Finally the parameters of the individual classes are estimated using Gaussian Mixture Model for automatic grading and sorting.

An automatic electronic vision based system for sorting and grading of fruit like Mango (Mangifera indica L.) based on their maturity level and size is discussed here. The application of automatic vision based system, aimed to replace manual based technique for sorting and grading of fruit as the manual inspection poses problems in maintaining consistency in grading and uniformity in sorting. To speed up the process as well as maintain the consistency, uniformity and accuracy, a prototype electronic vision based automatic mango sorting and grading system using fuzzy logic is discussed. The automated system collects video image from the CCD camera placed on the top of a conveyer belt carrying mangoes, then it process the images in order to collect several relevant features which are sensitive to the maturity level and size of the mango. Gaussian Mixture Model (GMM) is used to estimate the parameters of the individual classes for prediction of maturity. Size of the mango is calculated from the binary image of the fruit. Finally the fuzzy logic techniques is used for automatic sorting and grading of mango fruit.
