Employee performance (EP) is an important variable that can improve company performance. Many stu... more Employee performance (EP) is an important variable that can improve company performance. Many studies have examined various factors that influence EP. Compensation, motivation, and job satisfaction (JS) are three important variables that have been shown to have an effect EP. This study aimed to examine the model of the relationship between the four variables. By using 520 government company employees in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, the results of model testing proved that compensation, motivation, and JS were related to EP. The results of the mediation model testing using structural equation modeling (SEM) found that motivation also played a role as a mediating variable for the relationship between financial rewards and EP. In this relationship model, motivation was able to increase JS, but employees who feel satisfied cannot guarantee that they will perform better.

Bisnis akan mendapatkan keuntungan bila dapat menghasilkan dan memasarkan produk kepada pelanggan. Perbedaan antara pendapatan dan biaya produksi menunjukkan keuntungan yang dapat diperoleh dari bisnis tersebut. Keuntungan tersebut akan diterima oleh pemilik yang telah mendapatkan insentif atas usahanya dalam membangun bisnis tersebut. Pemahaman mengenai bisnis penting bagi orang yang akan memulai pekerjaan dalam bisnis. Bisnis adalah organisasi atau individu yang mencari keuntungan dengan penyediaan produk yang memuaskan kebutuhan pelanggan. Produk adalah barang atau layanan, atau ide, baik yang mempunyai karaktaristik berwujud maupun yang tidak berwujud yang dapat memuaskan dan memberikan manfaat. Keuntungannya adalah sasaran utama bisnis, yaitu perbedaan antara biaya untuk membuat dan menjual produk dan apa yang pelanggan bayar untuk produk atau layanan tersebut. Bisnis berhubungan erat dengan kewirausahaan karena bisnis membutuhkan orang yang mampu berwirausaha. Kewirausahaan merupakan proses mencari kesempatan di bawah kondisi yang berisiko. Hubungan yang harmonis tentu akan berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap kinerja individual maupun organisasional. Hubungan di antara berbagai pihak baik pihak di dalam maupun antara pihak internal dan eksternal perusahaan atau organisasi diatur dalam sistem pengaturan kerja atau pekerjaan yang disebut dengan hubungan industrial. Pengaturan tersebut meliputi berbagai aspek, yaitu ekonomi, sosial, politik, dan hukum. Hubungan di antara berbagai pihak dalam hubungan industrial tersebut meliputi pengusaha, pekerja, pemerintah, dan masyarakat. Pengusaha, pekerja, dan pemerintah serta masyarakat pada umumnya masing-masing mempunyai kepentingan bersama atas keberhasilan dan kelangsungan hidup perusahaan. Pengusaha dan pekerja harus secara bersama-sama memberikan upaya yang optimal melalui pelaksanaan tugas sehari-hari untuk menjaga kelangsungan hidup perusahaan dan meningkatkan keberhasilan perusahaan. Pekerja dan serikat pekerja harus membuat kesan bahwa perusahaan hanya untuk kepentingan pengusaha. Pengusaha juga harus membuang sikap yang memperlakukan pekerja hanya sebagai faktor produksi. Dalam perkembangannya, hubungan industrial tidak hanya menekankan pada aspek pengaturan yang tertuang dalam undang-undang ketenagakerjaan dan berbagai peraturan lainnya, melainkan menggali aspek lain mengenai hubungan industrial. Hubungan industrial membahas hubungan individu, kelompok, dan organisasi. Hal ini tentu saja mirip dengan perilaku organisasional dan manajemen sumber daya manusia, tetapi kajiannya tentu saja berbeda.

This research compared ratings of task performance and contextual performance from three differen... more This research compared ratings of task performance and contextual performance from three different sources: self, peer, and supervisor. Participants were service industry employees in the service industries in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. A Sample of 146 employees and 40 supervisors from the service industries provided ratings of task performance and contextual performance. The results indicated that there were significant differences in the mean ratings across the two sources. Self-ratings and peer-ratings of task and contextual performance are not significantly different, but self-rating and supervisor-ratings of task and contextual performance are significantly different. Peer-ratings are significantly different from supervisor ratings of task performance, but not significantly different of contextual performance. Organizational concern motives, prosocial values motives, and impression management motives influence individuals' OCB in banking industry in Indonesia. A survey is conducted by using questionnaires from the previous research. The samples consisted of 531 tellers. Validity and reliability tests are used to evaluate the questionnaire contents. The Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) is employed to test the relationship among the variables. Relative to the other motives, organizational concern motives are most strongly associated with two dimensions of OCB, and prosocial values motives are most strongly with OCBO dimensions. Impression management motives do not influence both dimensions of OCB, OCBI and OCBO. The results suggest that motives may play an important role in OCB. The research study setting with the individual unit of analysis. A survey was conducted by using questionnaires from previous research. The questionnaires were sent to 300 employees in service organizations in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, 252 completed surveys data were returned anonymously in sealed envelopes. Validity and reliability tests were used to test the questionnaires contents. The structural equation modeling (SEM) was used to test the relationship among variables. The result proved that supportive leadership and employee engagement have direct positive relationship with OCB and employee engagement mediated the relationship between supportive leadership and OCB. A thorough discussion on the relationship among the variables as well as on self-rating is presented in this paper.

Organization have long been interested in the role of management on how employees think and feel ... more Organization have long been interested in the role of management on how employees think and feel about their jobs, as well as what employees are willing to dedicate to the organization. This study tested the relationship between employee engagement, organizational citizenship behavior (OCB), and counterproductive work behavior (CWB). The author administered 507 participants employee engagement scale, organizational OCB scale, and CWB scale of service industries in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Validity and reliability tests were used to evaluate the questionnaire contents. The result indicated a significant positive relation between employee engagement and OCB and a significant negative relation between employee engagement and CWB and between OCB and CWB This result also indicated no differences between employee engagement of female and male. This result shows that there is a different in mean score of OCB and CWB between male and female.
