
Dimitris A. Kyriazis
Dimitrios A. Kyriazis MD (Military Medical School, Thessaloniki, 1965), Psychiatry (Athens, 1973), Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (McGill, Montreal, Canada 1979), Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy (Athens, HSPP, 1986), Group Analysis (Athens, 1988), PhD (Democritus University, Alexandroupolis, 2008). He retired from Hellenic Air Force as a two star General in 1992. He was head of the Psychiatric Department in the Hellenic Air Force Hospital (1974-1976 and 1987-1992). He is a past president of the Hellenic Society of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy (HSPP), and is currently a member of the training committee and deputy member of the EC of the International Federation Psychoanalytic Societies (IFPS). He has taught in post-graduate programmes in Psychiatry, Child Psychiatry, Family Therapy and Psycho--analysis and has published in Greek and English. He has taught psychology of lea-dership and stress management, human factors in aircraft accidents in War College of Hellenic Armed Forces. He is currently working in private practice as Psychoanalyst (HSPP, IFPS), Group Analyst and Child Psychotherapist. His current interests focus on psychic trauma, therapeutic stalemate, psychic change in psychoanalytic process, neuropsycho-analysis and large group dynamics. He is also interested in the interaction between the Hellenic ancient thought (poetry, philosophy), mythology and contemporary psychoanalysis. He has written papers as well, on the dialogue between Christian theology and Psychoanalysis.
