
Diana Pérez Custodio
She was born in Algeciras (Cádiz) in 1970. She was Elected Official Piano Accompanist at the Superior Conservatory of Music in Malaga since 1990 until 2000, where she imparted the subject of Musical Acoustics and Organology during three years and coordinated the Laboratory of Electroacoustic Music and Musical Informatics for five years. Since 2000 to 2004, she has been Associate Professor in the Department of Communication at the University of Málaga. In the artistic field, and after a brief period of chamber music concert activity, she devoted to composition, making emphasis on the use of human voices, new technologies and mixing Music within other different Arts.Diana Perez is PhD in Audiovisual Communication, also has an Advanced Certificate in Music Theory, Piano, Chamber Music, Composition and studied Oboe. She improved her musical knowledge in the city of Barcelona with the Professors Gabriel Brncic (Composition and Electroacoustics), Liliana Maffiotte (Piano) and Claudio Zulian (Musical Analysis).As a composer, she has been commissioned by the CDMC, Radio Clásica, the Regional Government of Andalusia, the International University Menéndez y Pelayo, the Parliament of Andalusia, the Galician Center for Contemporary Art and the Andalusian Centre of Contemporary Art, as well as many groups and soloists as Esperanza Abad, Jean Pierre Dupuy, the Ensemble Neoars or the Group TEM. Her orchestral works have been performed by the Orquesta Filarmónica de Málaga, Real Orquesta Sinfónica de Sevilla and Orquesta Sinfónica de Córdoba. Her music has been programmed by different cycles and international festivals, as the International Festival des Musiques et Créations Electroniques of Bourges (France), Festival Internacional de Música y Danza of Granada (Spain), Festival de Música Española of Cádiz (Spain), Aujourd'hui Musiques Festival of Perpignan (France), Circuito Electrovisiones of Mexico DF, Viva Music Festival of Portugal and the International Festival of Contemporary Music of Alicante (Spain). She has premiered and published a trilogy of experimental operas: Taxi, Fonía and Renacimiento. In the same way, nowadays she is applying live electronic in the creation of big format spectacles like 12 piedras. Ritual or 4 ostinati amorosi.In relation to her investigation works, she has published her Doctoral Thesis Comunicación y Cultura, entre lo local y lo global: la obra de Paco de Lucía como caso de estudio (in CDROM), the book Paco de Lucía. La evolución del flamenco a través de sus rumbas, and some book's chapters and articles in specialized magazines about flamenco.
