This paper is my successful PhD in Philosophy dissertation, specializing in Biblical exegesis. P... more This paper is my successful PhD in Philosophy dissertation, specializing in Biblical exegesis. Presented is a detailed summary of the historical evolution of Bible interpretation strategies, from the earliest Christian Church, up to the present day. My research leads to advocating a spiritual/allegorical interpretation method as the most rational approach, and inparticular the system published by Swedish mystical theologian, and idealism philosopher, Emanuel Swedenborg. His Neoplatonic doctrine of degrees or levels of reality is discussed, and also the science of correspondences , the metaphysical idealism philosophical structure which explains the essential noumenal significance of all objects of the universal phenomenal reality, and especially as it relates to the symbolic meaning of scripture.
