The Effect of Work Ethics of Employees on their Work Performance

Employees with strong work ethics present themselves as professionals in every sense of the word.... more Employees with strong work ethics present themselves as professionals in every sense of the word. The study determined the effect of the work ethics of employees on their work performance. The literature review was undertaken to deepen the concept and establish the theories of the study. Descriptive assessment and correlational research design were applied. It used research questionnaires to gather the data from the respondents consisting of the employees of the Divine Word College of Laoag. The study found that the work ethics of employees along three components (the attitude toward the work itself, moral attitude toward the work, and intrinsic motivation) are considered high. Their work performance along with task and contextual performance is high, while counterproductive behavior is low. In terms of the correlation between work ethics and individual work performance, the results manifested a significant correlation between work ethics and individual work performance. But taking the dimensions of work ethics separately, only the attitude toward the work itself and intrinsic motivation affect the individual work performance along with task and contextual performance. Moreover, a moral attitude toward the work affects counterproductive behavior.

The study then aimed to determine the effect of managerial competencies on the employees' trust in management. To deepen the concept and establish the theories of the study, the literature was reviewed. Moreover, it used a descriptive assessment and correlational research design. The employees of Divine Word College of Laoag were the respondents, whereby questionnaires were used to gather the data. The study found that the managerial competencies of the administrators are not very high, and the employees' trust in management is not very high also. Pearson correlation indicates that there is a significant correlation between managerial competencies and the employees' trust in management.

The literature was reviewed to deepen and establish the concept of the study. Descriptive assessment and correlational research design were employed. Data were gathered from the respondents. They were the employees of the Divine Word College of Laoag. It was ascertained that the bureaucratic leadership style is high while the humanistic style is moderate. Consequently, this indicates that the bureaucratic style of leadership dominated the humanistic style. A significant correlation was found between leadership styles and innovative work behavior. Hence, the hypothesis of the study is accepted.

To deepen the understanding of the concepts and to establish the theories of the study, literature was reviewed. The study used descriptive assessment and a correlational research design. The population of the study was all employees and administrators of Divine Word College of Laoag. Questionnaires were used to gather the data and weighted mean and Pearson r correlation was used to analyze the data. The study found that the humanistic management style of administrators is high and counterproductive behaviour is low. However, Pearson r correlation indicated that there is no significant correlation between humanistic management style and counterproductive behaviour of employees. Thus, the hypothesis is rejected.

To deepen the understanding of the concepts and establish the theories of the study, literature was reviewed. The study used a descriptive assessment and correlation research design. Total enumeration sampling was taken as the sampling design of the study. Therefore, the population of the study was all employees of Divine Word College of Laoag, a total of 169 employees. Questionnaires were used to gather the data and to determine the correlation, the ANOVA was used. The results indicate that entrepreneurial mindset and work environment and individual work performance are high and the result of the correlation found that both, entrepreneurial mindset and work environment are significantly correlated to the individual work performance.

To support and establish the theories of the study, literature was reviewed. The study used descriptive assessment and correlational research design and questionnaires were used to gather the data. The population of the study was all employees composed of teaching and non-teaching personnel. The study found that the computer and internet self-efficacy of employees was high and their job satisfaction. Based on Mult r regression analysis, it was found that taken together, computer and internet self-efficacy affects the job satisfaction of employees. Taken singly, it was the only computer that predicted the job satisfaction of employees. In other words, knowing both computers and the internet at the same time can affect employees’ capability to perform their work and job satisfaction.

To enrich the discussion on this particular topic, the literature was reviewed and theories were proposed on extrinsic and intrinsic work values. The study was intended for the employees of Divine Word Colleges in the Ilocos Region, Philippines. To gather the data, questionnaires were used and in interpreting the data, descriptive and inferential statistics were used such as weighted mean and Pearson r Correlation. Weighted mean was used to determine the level of work values such as extrinsic, intrinsic work values, and work engagement. While Pearson e was used to determine the correlation between work values and work engagement. The study found that employees of Divine Word Colleges view both values to be important and are considered high and their work engagement is also considered high. Finally, the study found that there is a correlation between work values and work engagement. Therefore, the hypothesis is accepted.

The study aimed to examine the effect of organizational politics on the individual work performan... more The study aimed to examine the effect of organizational politics on the individual work performance of employees. To support the study, literature was reviewed and theories were identified and explained. It was carried out following research methodology in terms of research design, population, the locale of the study, research instruments, and statistical treatment of data. The study found that the organizational politics of the institution is at a moderate level and the individual work performance was also at a moderate level. It is further found that there is a significant correlation between organizational politics and individual work performance. Thus, it is concluded that organizational politics is a significant predictor of organizational performance. The study found that a moderate level of organizational politics affects individual work performance positively and therefore it confirms the finding of other studies that organizational politics is not inherently bad or negative.

It used questionnaires to gather the data and used a descriptive correlational research design. The weighted mean was used to determine the transformational leadership and attitude level and the Pearson r or Product Moment of Correlation was used to determine the correlation between transformational leadership style and the attitude of employees toward the school. The study found that there is a significant correlation between the two variables and therefore the hypothesis of the study is accepted.

Human beings must accept the fact that this broken world is caused by human beings themselves. The solution is going back to human beings&#39; relationship. Since society is built upon relations, therefore human relationship must be restored to heal the broken world. The kind of human relationship that can restore unified society is subject to subject relationship, not subject to object relationship. World crisis is caused by I-It relationship in which another human being is treated as object and as a result abuse and manipulation are becoming the norms of relationship. Conflict happens because of misunderstanding and such misunderstanding is caused by not being open to one another. People do not reveal themselves to one another because of mistrust. Buber&#39;s advice is that everyone should open to one another and should be treated as equal human beings, as subjects. Therefore, honest and sincere dialogue between man and man is a prerequisite to build a dream world: unified world, not a broken one.

It argues that culture affects the mind and the mind affects the attitude of persons toward something and such attitude affects the behavior. In line with such argument, the author agrees that solving environmental problem need to reverse the culture, the basic world views which are held by the community. Old views need to be revisited and a new perspective about the world needs to be introduced. Laws may not be enough to solve environmental problem unless there is a total transformation of culture and mind.

The study was to measure the level of leadership skills of administrators/managers of Divine Word... more The study was to measure the level of leadership skills of administrators/managers of Divine Word Colleges in Region I and how leadership skills affect the work engagement of employees. In order to carry out the study, the theory of leadership was formulated. Related literature and studies were reviewed to support the theoretical foundation of the study. Since the study was a quantitative study, questionnaires were used to gather the data and the questionnaires were adopted from Foronda (2010). Pearson r was used to determine the relationship between leadership skills of administrators and work engagement of employees. The study found that the leadership skills of administrators/managers are within the level of “Good” or “High” and leadership skills correlate to the work engagement of employees. Leadership skills affect the work engagement of employees. The higher the leadership skills are, the higher the work engagement becomes. Thus the hypothesis of the study is rejected

To deepen the study, literature was reviewed and theories were established. The study used the descriptive correlational research design. The total enumeration was the sampling design of the study. It used questionnaires to gather the data. The study found that the teachers' self-efficacy is very high along the three dimensions of teachers' self-efficacy which include self-efficacy in student engagement, instructional strategies, and classroom management. While teachers' job satisfaction was considered high, not very high along the two dimensions such as satisfaction with the work itself and personal growth and career development. Concerning the correlation, it was found that there is a significant correlation between teachers' self-efficacy and job satisfaction.

It also seeks to find out the effect of entrepreneurial values, cognitive attitude toward the business behavioral intention. The study found that entrepreneurial values, cognitive attitude toward business, and business intention of students are high and it further found that there is no significant difference between entrepreneurial values, cognitive attitude toward business, the business intention of ABM grade XII students, and the fourth – year college students of business management course. Thus, the hypothesis is rejected. It also found that there is a significant correlation between entrepreneurial values, cognitive attitude toward the business, and business behavioral intention. Therefore, the hypothesis is accepted.

To carry out the study and to strengthen the theory of the study, the related literature and studies were reviewed. The population of the study was all employees of the two colleges and therefore the total enumeration was used. The research design of the study was descriptive assessment and descriptive correlational research design. The data were gathered through questionnaires and the weighted mean was used to measure the level of corporate transparency practices and work engagement and Pearson r was used to determine the correlation between the two variables. Based on my presentation, the nature of the relationship between teachers and students must be pedagogical in nature, asymmetrical relationship or between the unequal. To deepen the study, literature was reviewed and theories were established. The study used the descriptive correlational research design. The total enumeration was the sampling design of the study. It used questionnaires to gather the data. The study found that the teachers' self-efficacy is very high along the three dimensions of teachers' self-efficacy which include self-efficacy in student engagement, instructional strategies, and classroom management. While teachers' job satisfaction was considered high, not very high along the two dimensions such as satisfaction with the work itself and personal growth and career development. Concerning the correlation, it was found that there is a significant correlation between teachers' self-efficacy and job satisfaction.

It also seeks to find out the effect of entrepreneurial values, cognitive attitude toward the business behavioral intention. The study found that entrepreneurial values, cognitive attitude toward business, and business intention of students are high and it further found that there is no significant difference between entrepreneurial values, cognitive attitude toward business, the business intention of ABM grade XII students, and the fourth – year college students of business management course. Thus, the hypothesis is rejected. It also found that there is a significant correlation between entrepreneurial values, cognitive attitude toward the business, and business behavioral intention. Therefore, the hypothesis is accepted.

To carry out the study and to strengthen the theory of the study, the related literature and studies were reviewed. The population of the study was all employees of the two colleges and therefore the total enumeration was used. The research design of the study was descriptive assessment and descriptive correlational research design. The data were gathered through questionnaires and the weighted mean was used to measure the level of corporate transparency practices and work engagement and Pearson r was used to determine the correlation between the two variables. The study found that there is no correlation between corporate transparency practices and work engagement and therefore the hypothesis is rejected.
