The purpose of this paper is to introduce a model of value-based leadership in addition to that e... more The purpose of this paper is to introduce a model of value-based leadership in addition to that explain deeply about Value- Based Leadership: leadership effectiveness. how leaders motivate followers, path goal theory, framing-using words to shape meaning and inspire others, emotional intelligence and leadership effectiveness, ethical leadership, stewardship: the leader as serving the followers, cultural approach to leadership, combining vision and control.
Effective leadership is very important for today’s dynamic changing organizations. Emotional intelligence has identified by some as that important elements needed for this effective leadership.
From the reviewed of related literature, it can be summarized that universities focus and attention in our country is very limited, which needs of value based leadership, leadership effectiveness and leadership in educational institutions. Therefore, value based looks neglected areas due to many challenges includes lack of resource, limited international relations.
Although threatened in some places by our strong traditional and influences form people with power Somaliland National Commission of Higher Education looks that they are new and do not have the capacity to focus on value based leadership while almost 90% of higher education teachers are trained. Moreover, they are not aware of the value of leadership in education and its importance hope in the future this will help more and let them to understood more.
