Safe drinking water is basic need for human being and Municipality is a responsible to provide across the section of society. Therefore, paper is carried out the research on accessibility drinking water and its quality within the city administrative boundary. The objectives of research are (1) to find the numbers of ward cover by water supply connection by Ranchi Municipal Corporation, (2) to find out the level of underground water in order to understand the exploitation of underground water resource and (3) to find out the present condition from common people through household survey. Research methodology is based on the secondary data that available to public domain.

Urban centers across country are full of constraint in the sectors of water supply, waste water management, storm water and drainages and solid waste management as well as social infrastructure facilities such as health facilities, education facility, banks, and so on. This paper is identified the towns in Manipur and examined infrastructure facilities (physical and social) status. The first objective of this paper is to identify towns in Manipur based on the 2001 census. The second objective is to examine the status of physical and social infrastructure facilities and compare it to the benchmarks of urban services which was documented by government of India and finally draw useful inference for sustaining growth of towns in Manipur. The research methodology was adopted through statistical reports of Manipur Government and data available to public domain from various line agencies. The research tools and techniques used for the analysis of data are GIS arch, MS Excel and so on.

It is the capital city of Uttarakhand state located in the foothill of Himalaya with a population of approximately 578420 (census 2011). incomparable with other city within nation. In this context, study has been carried out the urban
geography in considering the indicators - geology, soil, ground water depth and city slope. The analysis
and maps representation of geo-physical features of Addis Ababa city have been used the GIS software.
Based on research finding of the geo-physical features of the city is dominated by a maximum coverage
of tertiary sediment in geology indicator, black cotton and clay soils have highest coverage in soil
indicator. The shallow ground water in the city is found 0.5 to 24 metre however the deep ground
water table found to be around 125 metre and lastly its converges to the centre of city.
