With the emergence of the renewable energies, the DC bus could optimize electricity power efficiency for smart home (green home). Since the initial choice for alternative current transportation in 1880, the electrical architecture distributions haven't been change with one direction distribution to the consumers through high voltage lines. But AC power distribution therefore is so wasteful due to number of converters AC/AC and AC/DC with consequent energy losses (15% energy per converter). Nowadays most of renewable energy sources as solar panel are DC and all modern appliances are also DC powered (LED lighting, IT, electric car ..). We propose a smart DC grid distribution architecture for smart homes based on 2 voltages levels 48 VDC (Power over Ethernet) and 380 to 400 HVDC bus to improve electrical efficiency. Under the scope of ANR-C3µ project we present a microgrid DC bus with distributed control command for optimal energy resources management based on self-consumption and peak shaving for the grid. For data exchanges we will use Power Line Communication (PLC) now widely used in wide range of AC application (IP over AC) for the DC line and to pilot the DC microgrid. With the expérimental results feedback we could analyze the communications performances and the design for a microgrid control/command system in smart building applications.

ABSTRACT-In the context of climate change, it is urgent that island territories achieve energy autonomy. Today mainly dependent on fossil fuels such as coal and fuel oil, the island of Reunion nevertheless has a strong solar potential. Despite the significant increasing use of electricity produced by solar panels, the energy losses due to transport and the multiple conversions of sources from direct current to alternating current and vice versa, considerably reduce the electrical yield. If we go back to Edison's proposal, the DC architecture for local energy production and consumption has many advantages in the case of solar energy. The analysis carried out presents a comparative study on the energy and financial level, for the renovation of an isolated mountain refuge at high altitude. Self-consumption of the refuge thanks to solar panels is encouraged and managed according to different priorities between the consumption needs of users and the storage of energy by batteries (lithium iron phosphate). The main constraint lies in the management of the solar resource without being backed up by a solution such as generators, based on a predictive control model. The comparison is made on the electrical architecture of the existing refuge (DC-AC-DC) and after development of an electrical architecture in direct current (DC-DC). In order to precisely quantify these data, the results present the measurements obtained in the laboratory, within the framework of an experimental measurement bench making it possible to supply direct current directly by solar panels to various equipment (lighting, heating, storage). Indoo r and outdoor environmental sensors and drivers are used to identify energy consumption forecasts. The differences in quantities of converters, quantities of cabling, ease of control, overheating of equipment, cost and energy consumption are also presented, to analyze the gains or losses obtained according to two management solutions for the unbacked solar resource. This feature makes them rather difficult to predict and therefore remains a major threat to nearby populated valleys. Our multidisciplinary partnership between laboratories (ISTerre: earth science and LCIS: embedded electronics, telecommunication) aims at developing a new predictive tool in order to analyse field movements using sensors. The plan is to instrument unstable slopes with a sensors network, characterised by its low consumption and cost, in order to achieve continuous monitoring of the overall shape deformation. Other monitoring techniques can be used for this particular phenomenon (photogrammetry, LIDAR …), but some significant imperfections and flaws lay within their usage. This paper presents the methods used to enable geolocation using our wireless sensors network based on LoRa (Long Range) radio transmission technology.

The contribution of the present work resides in the validation of constraints at all times thanks to the effective use of B-splines parameterization properties. The proposed improvements are validated through simulation and comparison results for a particular electro-mechanical elevator system.

This method uses only voltage as the input. Therefore, the system can be implemented with less complexity and cost. Moreover, this method effectively improves both transient and steady state. The results show that the time to achieve a steady state is around 0. 05s. At steady state, the MPPT efficiency reaches 99.8 %, and the oscillation is about 0.01 %.

The system includes the mechanical part, a Salient Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine (SPMSM), a battery energy storage unit, a super-capacitor, a solar panel (PV) generation unit as well as the corresponding converters to DC-links. This microgrid is connected to a three-phase utility (external) grid. A port-Hamiltonian model is proposed for the system. It includes the descriptions of nonlinear characteristics and the limitations for each components as well as some typical operation demands.

This becomes an evident objective for sensors networks research. The IETF 6LoWPAN RFC proposal was developed in that sense to use the benefit of IPV6 over wirelessly connected sensors (WSN). The IEEE 802.15.4 MAC layer stack being popular in the domain of wireless sensors within constrained resources, a few 6LoWPAN adaptations already exist. In this paper, we investigate the possibility of using IPv6 for sensor networks connected through powerline communication (PLC) non-wireless mediums and demonstrate possible interoperability. This document propose the first adaptation of the IEEE 802.15.4 commons standard on PLC medium. Following this standard interface, we demonstrate the possibility to carry out data on PLC with great reliability, and low power energy requirement using our WPC TM physical layer (called Watt Pulse Communication (WPC)). This allows to benefit from the development of WSN researc...
