Thus, this study explored whether body image satisfaction predicts Instagram selfie posting and whether Instagram selfie posting is then associated with Instagram-related conflict and negative romantic relationship outcomes. A total of 420 Instagram users aged 18 to 62 years (M = 29.3, SD = 8.12) completed an online survey questionnaire. Analysis of a serial multiple mediator model using bootstrapping methods indicated that body image satisfaction was sequentially associated with increased Instagram selfie posting and Instagram-related conflict, which related to increased negative romantic relationship outcomes. These findings suggest that when Instagram users promote their body image satisfaction in the form of Instagram selfie posts, risk of Instagram-related conflict and negative romantic relationship outcomes might ensue. Findings from the current study provide a baseline understanding to potential and timely trends regarding Instagram selfie posting.

As early as 1958, brand personality was used to represent the non-material characteristics that made a store differentiable from other stores . Brand personality, as a non-product-based feature, was considered to have greater influence on purchase decision in mature market compared with product-based features (Azoulay and Kapferer 2003).

Design/methodology/approach ‐ The authors use Sartre's existential view of authenticity to develop a framework of authentic leadership in extreme contexts. They then use this framework to examine Xenophon's recount of the retreat of the 10,000 in the classic work, Anabasis. For this analysis, the authors iterate between the ideas of the past and the concepts of the present to understand how this classic has influenced and informed the current body of knowledge about leadership. Findings ‐ Using a Sartrean existentialist lens, "in extremis" authentic leaders exhibit an awareness of context extremity, responsibility in leading and following to share risks in extreme contexts and self-determination that inspires mutual trust and loyalty. Practical implications ‐ A Sartrean existentialist perspective suggests that authentic leaders in extreme contexts reflect authenticity by exhibiting and encouraging freedom of choice. By espousing this perspective, authentic leaders create common goals and interests that appeal to followers' intrinsic motivation which has been found to result in positive individual and organizational outcomes. Originality/value ‐ This paper contributes to the authentic leadership literature by using an existential conceptualization of authenticity to examine leadership in extreme contexts. This conceptualization might be more appropriate than the Aristotelian virtue-based deterministic philosophy that has dominated authentic leadership research.

Using the literature related to social cognitive theory and exercise, the present study hypothesizes and tests the effects of exercise on two directions of work-family conflict: work interference with family (WIF) and family interference with work (FIW). Using a sample of 476 working adults, we found that exercise was both positively related to self-efficacy for managing work-family conflict and negatively related to reported psychological strain, which in turn were related to reductions in work-family conflict. Model fit for the data support our contention that exercise indirectly influences work-family conflict via its direct impact on increased self-efficacy and reduced psychological strain. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.

Using an electrode-bearing glove (Biosonics, patent pending) a modulated pulse stimulus of 12 and 15 V was applied to five intra-rectal loci overlying the prostate. The locus that produced the most positive response was then stimulated at six intensities between 7.5 and 15 V. Erectile response was quantitated with a new device that measures penile rigidity (Biosonics, patent pending). Of the five loci tested (midline central, midline base, midline apex, right and left border), the right border of the prostate produced the most consistent and strongest erectile response. Increasing the stimulus intensity between 7.5 and 15 V demonstrated that a minimum voltage of 10.5 V was necessary for erection. There was a rapid progressive increase in rigidity, which became maximum at 15 V. These results demonstrate that the use of the Biosonics MEGS device and rigidometer provides a reliable method of producing and quantitating erection in primates.

The main claim is that the individual decision-making model proposed by Barnard in his Notes on the Significance of Decisive Behavior can be evaluated within the framework of image theory. Design/methodology/approach – The paper performed a comparative analysis of Barnard's and image theory's models of decision making to outline congruence and incongruence between Barnard's early conceptualization of individual decision making and the contemporary understanding of image theory. Findings – The findings provide support to the claim that image theory is an appropriate framework to describe Barnard's model. Originality/value – The unique contribution of this study is that it provides the first theoretical analysis of Barnard's model of individual decision making. Barnard's model of individual decision making is little known because it was posthumously published in his Notes on the Significance of Decisive Behavior 35 years after Barnard's death.
