The present study investigated the experience of emergency remote learning (ERL) provided to higher-education learners. The study explores learners' perceived experience regarding the quality of learning resources, the effectiveness of teaching in a virtual climate and the scope of interaction in ERL.Design/methodology/approachUtilising a snowball sampling method, data were obtained from 470 Indian students of higher education through a cross-sectional online survey using a questionnaire through social media platforms. Data were analysed with relevant statistics.FindingsThe majority of students agreed that they had benefited from ERL. The overall impression of the ERL is positive; nevertheless, the students are perplexed and lack confidence in many aspects of the ERL. The unprecedented gravity of crisis caused by Covid-19 has impacted every sphere of life and educ... more The unprecedented gravity of crisis caused by Covid-19 has impacted every sphere of life and education is one of the worst affected which may have long lasting effects on society. With the nationwide lockdown being enforced, all teachers were thrown into a new unforeseen, unprecedented situation without any mental preparation. The teachers at the school level were struggling hard to cope-up with the situation either with institutional support or even without it. Our research aim was how the teachers are reflecting on their response to such Emergency Remote Teaching-learning. The information was obtained from Indian teachers who usually taught any school subject at the secondary level in a school in West Bengal, India, and those who were forced to start online or remote teaching-learning owing to the abrupt suspension of school hours. A four point Likert scale was used for collecting data.

Majority of the studies established that degree of integration of ICT by teachers is positively correlated with their attitude to use of ICT resources. Despite the availability of ICT resources the teachers are inadequately integrate ICT in teaching learning. A purposive investigation was executed on 65 teachers who teach 9 th & 10 th grade students of the state aided schools of West Bengal, India. The study was conducted to find out the differences of attitude of practicing teachers towards integration of ICT in class room, before and after the short term training, provided under CSSTE scheme. We collected data on demographic variables, patterns of media engagement, and levels of mental well-being and mental anxiety among the Indian adult population in the COVID-19 era. A web-based cross-sectional online survey was conducted to obtain data on two main aspects in the context of COVID-19: mental well-being and mental anxiety and engagement with the media, both television and other social media channels. Using respondent-driven convenient sampling method, 426 Indian adults (age ≥ 18 years) residing in the country responded to the survey.
