ASPECTS OF MODERNIZING AGRICULTURE DURING BRAZILIAN CIVIL-MILITARY DICTATORSHIP (1964-1985): LINKS, METHODS AND STRATEGIES
The article discuses some of the main aspects about the modernization of agriculture policy applied in Brazilian case during the period of the civil-military dictatorship (1964-1985). Our interest is to understand the product of these policies, some of their methods and developments over the period in focus. Therefore, we highlight the role of multinationals through direct or mediated influence in and by the Brazilian State, as well as some methodologies applied at the local level, with emphasis on the case of 4S Clubs. We also present and analyze some of the strategies used to convince rural workers convincing rural workers to join the project.
