The CNA revealed that low and unreliable source of income is the core problem to majority of residents. The situation has been caused by poor agricultural practices as well as low technology level used in production, local varieties of seeds or seedlings used and lack of financial and marketing facilities. The whole community is peasants engaged in cultivation of maize, banana, cassava, beans and green vegetable. Basing on the findings it was found that establishment of improved banana farm was the most project that can improve the community income since it is perennial crop as compared to other crops. To achieve high performance in these laser melted parts, one would like to see consistent melting of the powder over the part region in each layer of the build. Current research methods into improving this consistency focus on the use of IR sensing to adjust heating elements in attempt to gain even temperature distributions over the pre-laser melted powder layer with the expectation that the laser at constant power, speed, spot size, and spacing will deliver constant melting properties. Development of a feedforward laser control system for improving component consistency in Selective Laser Sintering

Selective Laser Sintering makes up a significant portion of the polymer additive manufacturing ma... more Selective Laser Sintering makes up a significant portion of the polymer additive manufacturing market and is often the process of choice for structurally significant polymer components. With its expanding market, especially among end-use components, comes a growing need for improving reproducibility. Components built using Selective Laser Sintering display a large range among their mechanical properties and it has been shown that the thermal history of the building process has a strong influence over these variations. Temperature fluctuations of just a few degrees can mean the difference between scrapped parts or those with excellent mechanical and dimensional properties. This dissertation will introduce a novel method of reducing temperature and mechanical variations among parts. Physical simulations and empirical measurements of laser-polymer interaction are evaluated and used to guide development of an advanced laser power controller. The feedforward control system developed uses thermal imagery and dynamic surrogate modeling to systematically modulate laser energy impinging on the polymer surface to homogenize post-sintering temperatures. Results from thermal and mechanical tests will be presented, showing the laser control system is capable of reducing standard deviations by up to 57% for post-sintering temperature and 45% for ultimate flexural strength.

Data were collected of 521 parents most involved in the upbringing of the child (443 mothers and 78 fathers; Dutch origin 97.1%) of 207 girls and 314 boys (age M = 10.2, range 1–18 years). Treatment motivation was measured by the Parent Motivation Inventory. Least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) regression was used to investigate the prediction strength of 33 factors in 5 domains: (1) source of referral and prior use of healthcare services, (2) child characteristics, (3) characteristics of the primary parent, (4) parenting characteristics of the primary parent, and (5) family characteristics. Despite the documented negative effects of RNIHL, it is still challenging to persuade people to adopt safe listening behaviors. More research is needed to understand the underlying factors guiding listeners’ intentions to engage in safe listening habits. We used the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) to identify attitudes, social norms, and behavioral control in 92 young adults toward two intentional behaviors related to safe listening habits while listening to their personal listening devices: (1) lowering the intensity of loud music, and (2) shortening the listening duration of loud music. Exposure to loud music is not considered hazardous in our society because music is thought to be a source of relaxation and entertainment. However, there is evidence that regardless of the sound source, frequent exposure to loud music, including through personal audio systems (PAS), can lead to hearing loss, tinnitus, difficulty processing speech, and increased susceptibility to age-related hearing loss.Several studies have documented temporary threshold shifts (TTS) (a risk indicator of future permanent impairment) in subjects that listen to loud music through their PAS. Effects of Auditory Training on Electrophysiological Measures in Individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder

BACKGROUND Identifying objective changes following an auditory training program is central to the... more BACKGROUND Identifying objective changes following an auditory training program is central to the assessment of the program's efficacy. PURPOSE This study aimed (1) to objectively determine the efficacy of a 12-week auditory processing training (APT) program in individuals with autism spectrum disorder using auditory evoked potentials (AEPs) and (2) to identify the top central AEP predictors of the overall score on the Test of Auditory Processing Skills-3 (TAPS-3), the primary behavioral outcome measure of the APT program published in our earlier article. RESEARCH DESIGN A one-group pretraining, posttraining design was used. STUDY SAMPLE The sample included 15 children and young adults diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. Participants underwent the APT program consisting of computerized dichotic training, one-on-one therapist-directed auditory training, and the use of remote microphone technology at home and in the classroom. DATA COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS All participants underwent pre- and posttraining auditory brain stem responses (ABRs), complex auditory brain stem responses (cABRs), and auditory late responses (ALRs). Test results from ABRs and ALRs were grouped based on scores obtained in their dominant and nondominant ears. Paired t-tests were used to assess the efficacy of the training program, and least absolute shrinkage and selection operator regression was used to assess the relationship between ALRs and the TAPS-3 overall summed raw score reported in our earlier article. RESULTS AND CONCLUSIONS When compared with pretraining results, posttraining results showed shorter ABR latencies and larger amplitudes. The cABRs showed decreased latencies of the frequency following waves, a reduction in pitch error, and enhancement of pitch strength and phase shift. ALR results indicated shorter latencies and larger amplitudes. Our earlier article showed that the TAPS-3 overall score was significantly higher after training. This study showed that the top three ALR predictors of TAPS-3 outcomes were P1 amplitude in the dominant ear, and N1 amplitude in the dominant and nondominant ears.
