Bird migration mapping from BirdLife International, the human fossil record, and recent scientific studies show that all species of the genus Homo followed bird migration routes on their inter-continental treks and consistently chose to live on the seasonal grounds of migratory birds. The earliest farmers accurately perceived migratory birds as a vector of dispersal for seeds of vegetation (The Royal Society Publishing, 1/2016) and chose to farm only where two or more migration flyways converge. Before the advent of the Abrahamic religions, cross-cultural evidence shows that people perceived migratory birds as divine agents and messengers of the sun, delivering seeds in spring and carrying souls to heaven in autumn.
