Papers by Edin Begic
The main aim of this book, which includes a practicum, is to provide medical degree students with an introduction to pharmacogenomics/pharmacogenetics, by presenting a protocol for characterisation of two genes that are responsible for an individual's response to the most commonly prescribed anticoagulant drug, a vitamin K antagonist, warfarin. This is the first drug for which the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a specific genotype-phenotype-drug dosing recommendation in 2007, thereby implementing the knowledge of pharmacogenetic data in its drug label.
