The 90% confidence interval was between -2 to +1 for all preoperative myopias and was the best when preoperative myopia was between -0.5 to -3 diopters (-1 to +1 D). The study of the stability and security shows that this surgical technique is stable and gives a good security.

The mean (+/- standard deviation) retinol-binding protein concentration as measured by the Behring Nephelometer was 31.0 +/- 15.6 mg/l; the mean by RID was 31.2 +/- 15.7 mg/l. This difference was not statistically significant by Student's t test (P = 0.6), and the correlation coefficient (r) was 0.87. Thus, the Behring Nephelometer method measures retinol-binding protein rapidly and as accurately as radial immunodiffusion.

Age was an important covariate for the micronutrient concentration values. Retinol was highly correlated with alpha-tocopherol and cholesterol. Strong correlation was found with both beta-carotene and cholesterol. Serum levels were considered for their appropriateness as indicators of micronutrient status.

This paper describes the principles of bio inspired algorithms and reports on Migration Algorithms and Bees Algorithms as good candidates to solve multiobjective optimization problems. A general framework for reliability optimization is formulated and applied to investigate classical and intuitionistic-fuzzy reliability optimization problems. The meta-algorithm proved good performance for large size problems with a reasonable time for tuning of initial parameters.

The first stage of our work is to extend to several discrete time series the Jenkins' principal component study developed in the Seventies. Our approach adapts "classic" Principal Component Analysis (PCA) to time series while taking as a starting point the technique Singular Spectrum Analysis (SSA). A principle is deduced and applied to the multidimensional process generating series. A Toeplitz bloc covariance matrix is built around lagged random vectors: it exploits the chronology, the stationarity and the double dimension of the process. Using two corollaries based on the tensorial product of matrices and established by Friedman B. in the Fifties, like the covariance properties of a circular process, we approach the eigenvalues and the eigenvectors of the covariance ma...

Girls had higher concentrations of IgM and albumin than boys had. Age appeared to be a main factor of variation for the proteins tested. Reference intervals are presented for IgG, IgA, IgM, albumin, transthyretin (prealbumin), retinol-binding protein, alpha 1-acid glycoprotein, and C-reactive protein. The significance of increased concentrations of C-reactive protein within a community is discussed.

However, whether they can also be reprogrammed into neurons under in vitro conditions remains unclear, and the mechanisms of programmed conversion from astrocytes to neurons have not yet been clarified. In the present study, we prepared reactive astrocytes from newborn rat spinal cord astrocytes using the scratch method and infected them with lentivirus carrying NEUROD1. The results showed that NEUROD1 overexpression reprogrammed the cultured reactive astrocytes into neurons in vitro with an efficiency of 13.4%. Using proteomic and bioinformatic analyses, 1952 proteins were identified, of which 92 were differentially expressed. Among these proteins, 11 were identified as candidate proteins in the process of reprogramming based on their biological functions and fold-changes in the bioinformatic analysis. Furthermore, western blot assay revealed that casein kinase II subunit alpha (CSNK2A2) and pinin (PNN) expression in NEUROD1-overexpressing reactive astrocytes was significantly increased, suggesting that NEUROD1 can directly reprogram spinal cord-derived reactive astrocytes into neurons in vitro, and that the NEUROD1-CSNK2A2-PNN pathway is involved in this process. This study was approved by the Animal Ethics Committee of Fujian Medical University, China (approval No. 2016-05) on April 18, 2016.

Especially, the deformation of polymer substrate and residual stress yield the crack which degrade the performance of organic light emitting diode (OLED) unit. In this study, we developed

Moreover, the tumoricidal action of several anti-cancer drugs is known to be mediated by a free radical dependent mechanism (1). It has been suggested that lipid peroxidation is one of the main causes of irradiation damage. Conditioning regimens for cancer treatments in children often consist of high-dose chemotherapy, possibly combined with surgery or irradiation. These regimens may approach tolerance limit for several tissues. Vitamins and other micronutrients with antioxidant properties (2) have not been clearly assessed during childhood malignancies. We therefore investigated whether abnormal breakdown of antioxidants such as beta-carotene, alpha-tocopherol, zinc and selenium occurs at the time of diagnosis and might follow the conditioning therapy in certain groups of children with cancer. The study was conducted in France as a satellite investigation of a large multicenter case-control survey designed to document the relationship between serum micronutrient values and childhood malignancy (3). We therefore measured retinol (vitamin A), beta-carotene, alpha-tocopherol (vitamin E), cholesterol, zinc, selenium, and related proteins in serum collected from 1986 to 1989 from 170 children aged 1–16 years with newly diagnosed cancer, and from 632 healthy controls who were cancer-free. In the patient group, sample processing was performed twice, once at diagnosis and before treatment (month-0), and once 6 months after initiation of treatment (month-6).

This paper considers soft computing techniques in order to be used for software fault diagnosis, reliability optimization and for time series prediction during the software reliability analysis. It is shown that the study of the data collections during a software project development can be done within a soft computing framework.
