Such information is often scattered in disparate legacy, operational and enterprise information systems, appointing the aggregation of valuable information and decision-making support quite difficult. Business Intelligence (BI) and their associated processes and tools are helping enterprises to solve this problem. This paper presents the principles and challenges of BI domain and evaluates its current approaches. The limitations of the above approaches will provide the basis for the design and development of a framework that pursues real time insight to business information, as well as, instantaneous awareness and appropriate response to critical business events across the entire enterprise. The proposed framework is based on Business Activity Monitoring (BAM) systems paradigm and attempts to create a unified enterprise-reporting environment. It was applied in a large Northern Greek manufacturing company in the last six months.

Major decisions are crisis essentials at the first moments, the more management's decision making speed is the more speed of crisis control will be. This study aimed to identify and analyze the internal relationships of decision-making criteria under crisis situations. In this study, fuzzy DEMATEL method was used to examine the internal relationships between crisis criteria. Also, experts' views were used to determine criteria, relationships between them and prioritize them. Results indicated relationships existed between criteria and sub-criteria of organizational crisis decision making model. Delphi technique is a group knowledge acquisition method, which is also used for qualitative issue decision-makings. Delphi technique can be used for qualitative research that is exploratory and identifying the nature and fundamental elements of a phenomenon is a basis for study. It is a structured process for collecting data during the successive rounds and group consensus. Despite over a half century of using Delphi in scientific and academic studies, there are still several ambiguities about it. The main problem in using the Delphi technique is lack of a clear theoretical framework for using this technique. Therefore, this study aimed to present a comprehensive theoretical framework for the application of Delphi technique in qualitative research. In this theoretical framework, the application and consensus principles of Delphi technique in qualitative research were clearly explained.

Since the elements of supply chain have been typically separate and independent entities, the main objective of supply chain management is to develop a mechanism to prioritize goals and to coordinate activities for optimal implementation of system. Information is the most significant element of coordination. Information technology can be used to help implement the participation of supply chain elements in the supply chain system. Collaborations in supply chain can adjust deficiencies with decentralized control and decrease the bullwhip effect. Taking advantage of information brings about considerable improvements in supply chain performance. Although this approach reduces the anticipated needs in the chain, the lack of process awareness is one of the weaknesses of this method. This study aims to investigate the participation in supply chain and the role of information sharing.

Managers who enable their organisations to recover from a crisis exhibit a complex set of compete... more Managers who enable their organisations to recover from a crisis exhibit a complex set of competencies in each of the five phases of a crisis – signal detection, preparation and prevention, damage control and containment, business recovery and reflection and learning. Given the importance of crisis management in organisations, this study provided an integrated crisis management model. To provide the model, the crisis management literature was reviewed in detail and crisis criteria were extracted in three pre-crisis, crisis and post-crisis stages. Experienced managers using DEMATEL method determined the relations between criteria. The final relation of criteria that was calculated through DEMATEL and FCM methods was entered into a fuzzy cognitive map as an input and the final crisis management model was drawn. In addition to integrated crisis management model, the ranking of crisis criteria was also one of the results of this study that could empower managers to respond to threats.

Delphi technique calculations are based on experts‘ opinions. Therefore, any error or inconsistency in the assessment of experts‘ opinions affects the result of calculations. In traditional Delphi approaches, although experts‘ mental competencies and abilities are used for comparisons, the quantification of experts‘ opinions cannot completely reflect the human thinking style. Using fuzzy sets is more consistent with human linguistic and sometimes vague descriptions and it is better for decision-makings in the real world by applying fuzzy numbers. The error level is reduced using fuzzy sets. A traditional challenge of Delphi method is solving the rounds of Delphi technique. This study indicated that the fuzzy Delphi technique could be used in a single round for screening criteria. A clear solution was also given for ending the rounds of Delphi technique.
