There are induced delays and data packet dropouts in NCSs which deteriorate the control performan... more There are induced delays and data packet dropouts in NCSs which deteriorate the control performance and stability of network control systems.A control method based on generalized predictive control was proposed for NCSs to cope with these problems.The data time-stamping mechanism and online identification method were introduced and applied to the presented strategy.The predictive values were modified promptly according to the measurement output of the system.The network delay compensator was set up to select the latest control signals to make the control method work efficiently.Finally,the effectiveness of the control strategy was demonstrated with a numeric simulation.

Objective:To analyze the change in cesarean rate and indications from 2000 to 2007,and to investi... more Objective:To analyze the change in cesarean rate and indications from 2000 to 2007,and to investigate measures of decreasing the rate of cesarean section.Methods:Retrospective analysis of the data of 10 377 cases of pregnant women in the recent 8 years was carried out to compare the changes in cesarean rate and surgical indications.Results:The rate of cesarean has been increasing year by year.It was 29.4% in 2000 and 60.1% in 2007.The indications were social factors,fetal distress,pregnancy complications and dystocia.Among them,social factors increased the most.Conclusions:The key to lowering the rate of cesarean section is to grasp the medical indication strictly and manage clinical dystocia actively,as well as decreasing the cesarean of social factors.

Objective To observe histologically the effect of exogenous application of bFGF (basic fibroblast... more Objective To observe histologically the effect of exogenous application of bFGF (basic fibroblast growth factor) combined to freeze- dried tendon on angiogenic enhancement in early ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) reconstruction. Methods 14 dogs were used in the experiment. 100 ng/mL bFGF was combined to freeze- dried tendon and then transplanted into one side knee to substitute the original ACL, while only freeze- dried tendon was used in the transplantation at the other side as control. The ACLs were harvested each week from 1 to 6 weeks from the 14 dogs respectively. The histological observation with HE staining was done under microscope to mainly observe the angiogenesis in the transplanted ACL. Results Neovascularization occurred at 2nd to 3rd week and reached the peak at 4th to 5th week postoperatively at the experimental sides. There are 13 groups of strata in the city planning area, including limestone, lava, sandstone, shale. The city planning area, which regional earth crust is stable, can be built up. The granite, epimetamorphism tuff and sandstone are hard basement rocks. The shale, mudstone and limestone are not good for building. The fault zones are dangerous to any project, where the rocks have been broken into pieces. Sand soil, gravelly soils are beneficial to project, but clay soil is harmful. According to the factors, such as provincial characteristics, fault, rock and soil, we divides the city planning area into three grades field. Purpose Torrington, Wyoming has a significantly high incidence of skin cancers, due partly to an ... more Purpose Torrington, Wyoming has a significantly high incidence of skin cancers, due partly to an average of 319 days per year of sunshine combined with the popularity of outdoor activities among community members. This community-centered project was designed to gather information and educate members of all age groups about skin damage related to the sun. Methods Outdoor summer activities were observed and information was gathered from the community about the prevalence of sunburn and the use of sunscreen and other prevention methods. Research was conducted to create an educational brochure using recent data from professional literature, as well as national and state informational Web sites. Results Risk factors for sunburn and methods of protection were identified as key areas for community education. A brochure was designed and made available throughout the community to raise awareness about sunburn and the risks of skin cancer along with sun protection methods and safe practices. In addition, a public service announcement was recorded and broadcast on a local television station. Summary Current research regarding sunburn and methods of sun protection was made available by brochure and television to educate the community. This brochure will be redistributed every spring to inform the people of Torrington about the risks of sun exposure and to promote skin safety during outdoor activities.

Two previous outbreaks of chikungunya in Malaysia were due to chikungunya virus of Asian genotype. The present outbreak involved two adjoining areas in the suburb of Ipoh city within the Kinta district of Perak, a state in the northern part of Peninsular Malaysia. Thirty seven residents in the main outbreak area and two patients in the secondary area were laboratory confirmed to be infected with the virus. The index case was a 44-year Indian man who visited Paramakudi, Tamil Naidu, India on 21st November 2006 and returned home on 30th of November 2006, and subsequently developed high fever and joint pain on the 3rd of December 2006. A number of chikungunya virus isolates were isolated from both patients and Aedes albopictus mosquitoes in the affected areas. A particularly appealing greedy-approach to signal reconstruction from CS measurements is the so called Orthogonal Matching Pursuit (OMP). We propose two modifications to the basic OMP algorithm, which can be handy in different situations.

The scattering and radiations of linear oblique waves by multiple long horizontal circular cylind... more The scattering and radiations of linear oblique waves by multiple long horizontal circular cylinders submerged in water of finite depth are investigated using the multipole expansion method. Analytical expressions for the diffracted and radiated potentials are given as a linear combination of infinite multipoles. The unknown coefficients in the expressions are determined by using the addition theorem of the Bessel function and the cylinder boundary conditions. Also analytical expressions for wave forces, hydrodynamic coefficients and reflection and transmission coefficients are derived. The present analytical solution is verified through the boundary element method and applied to investigate three different cases of the interaction of oblique waves with multiple submerged horizontal circular cylinders. The results show that the number of cylinders, the arrangement and spacing between cylinders play an important role in wave forces, hydrodynamic coefficients and reflection and transmission coefficients. Some interesting and important phenomena are observed in numerical experiments.
