This global hegemony of the liberal order has also become a catalyst for the liberalization of Islam. This article details the emerging trends of Liberal Islam in Muslim societies and focuses on the post 9/11 period. The wave of fundamentalism has not only caused a strange response among the modernized classes of the Muslim population, but also among traditionalists and the fundamentalists. This response is the emergence of a cosmopolitan liberalism in Muslim societies. In this article, various aspects and factors of Islamic liberalism will be discussed. The process of liberalization in the traditional circles of Pakistan and the liberalization of the Islamist political organizations are discussed as representative cases. The article would be concluded by suggesting the future of liberal Islam, the challenges it faces and how it will dominate the major interpreted versions of Islam.

Not only did the modernists, but also the traditional scholars joined his movement. The rationale for this article is the absence of any counter-narrative for this position in the religious discourse. Those who have worked upon this discourse have usually been focusing upon its permissibility, which has already been explained in Usool i Fiqh under the heading of Urf and Adaat. Right after the wave of secularization in the west, the crisis of spirituality and tradition forced sociologists to write about the functions of rituals and traditions in the formation of a healthy society. This article tries to evaluate the literature produced against the concept of rituals and re-establishes the importance of rituals and customs in an Islamic society by providing evidences from the texts of different schools of thought. Consequently, this article tries to establish a religious and sociological counter narrative for the significance of rituals and customs in an Islamic society.

The Western conception is that ethics is a result of a natural evolutionary process. The Modern West has never accepted or believed in any ethical system governed by religion, and modernity has tried to establish that the universal moral principles are independent of any metaphysical context. The modernity project and rising secularization have taken charge of the field, and religious significance has gone absent from the mainstream, on account of which many challenges have occurred in moral and ethical matters. We will also examine whether Modern Western Civilization has established an ethical code independent of religion and whether we should follow the Western Model, if any. Moreover, this article examines how ethics is a cause and consequence of the development of personality, and no ethical system is ever there without any religious foundations. Human beings are built on the essence of servit...
