This paper explores the issue of inserting the theme of sustainability in the core of corporate b... more This paper explores the issue of inserting the theme of sustainability in the core of corporate business strategies, since this insertion is based not only in punctual improvements in production processes, certifications, awards or adaptations of products and services, but also in the effective thinking about the needs of human beings that this product or service is tending to. From several benchmarks, including a few market surveys, the paper highlights and compares data from 20 model companies featured on the 2011 GuiaExame de Sustentabilidadewith the concept of the five corporate development stages, by Nidumolu, Prahaladand Rangaswami (2009) that support the discussion and strengthen the need to align products and services with strategies, in order to have sustainability in business. The conclusion is that few companies are in the most advanced stages and there is the need for greater corporate empowerment on the topic and for further research with similar topics.

The territorial unit considered in the study is the municipality, highlighting the existing possibility in Brazil of implanting a model of participatory management on taking into account the large number of small municipalities existing in the Country. The problematic of large cities is also analyzed, recognizing, however, the greater difficulty of articulation among the representative players of society, based on the exogenous forces engaging within these regions. The study of interpersonal relationship networks belongs to a long and extensive multidisciplinar... more The study of interpersonal relationship networks belongs to a long and extensive multidisciplinary academic research field. Although the subject is not a new one, there has been an increase in the interest of the role of social networks in the business world. This article discusses a kind of network very peculiar to Chinese communities’ way of life: the Guanxi. Ever more emigrating to countries of occidental culture, the Chinese bring with them their way of being and doing business to which the Guanxi is a significant cultural trait. Knowing this type of relationship increases the possibilities of success for those who intend to do business with the Chinese, both in Brazil and in China. The article encompasses a theoretical framework, exposing Chinese and Occidental theories about relationship networks, allowing a broad understanding of how Guanxi works. Interviews and the relevant analysis of their contents complement the exploratory and qualitative research.

Para tanto, utilizou-se uma abordagem interpretativista, interdisciplinar e sistêmica de forma que abrangesse questões relacionadas à economia, cultura, produção, entre outras. A discussão das ideias apresentadas neste trabalho partiu do pressuposto de que só se pode construir um consumo consciente se for entendido os fatores culturais relacionados ao comportamento do consumidor. No Brasil, a influência do consumo destaca um comportamento orientado pelo valor de bens e serviços, com parte das escolhas suprindo necessidades e desejos orientados por uma visão hedonista e inconsciente. Este artigo tem por objetivo descrever como a aplicação da perspectiva de Produção Mais Limpa (PM... more Este artigo tem por objetivo descrever como a aplicação da perspectiva de Produção Mais Limpa (PML) interfere na visão das externalidades advindas de um processo de produção de serviços. Para tanto, buscou-se como procedimentos metodológicos a pesquisa de caráter exploratório com abordagem qualitativa, ou seja, com base em pesquisa bibliográfica e documental construiu-se as categorias de análise e posterior construção de um esquema para a avaliação do fluxo da produção de serviços. Nesse caso utilizou-se para o estudo a prestação de serviços de recebimento de faturas por uma instituição bancária. Ao tratar desse processo sob a perspectiva de PML verificou-se a existência de externalidades antecedentes e consequentes positivas ao se adotar o sistema eletrônico de pagamentos de faturas. This is particularly so in the case of China, where its traditional business culture is a predominant factor. There are many Chinese cultural traits that are expressed and interfere with commercial exchange and negotiations, but guanxi, the Chinese network of personal connections, plays one of the most relevant traits related to the way business agreements take place.

Mudanças profundas estão acontecendo hoje em todas partes e em todos os níveis, em particular nas... more Mudanças profundas estão acontecendo hoje em todas partes e em todos os níveis, em particular nas Organizações, onde estas mudanças são o resultado de rápidos avanços nas Ciências e Tecnologias da Informação e Comunicação, bem como do fato de que as organizações estão investindo no seu Capital Humano e Social, porque sabem que são essenciais para desenvolver sua Inteligência e Conhecimento Organizacional. Neste trabalho tratamos principalmente dos avanços relacionados com Redes de Aprendizagem Colaborativa, particularmente no contexto das organizações Brasileiras, e como isto acontece através do desenvolvimento de Comunidades de Aprendizagem. Nossos cases mostram como esse processo de construção de conhecimento organizacional está relacionado, numa forma sistêmica, a estratégias de desenvolvimento e lideranças apropriadas a esse processo, e como este processo termina fornecendo um senso de propósito para estas comunidades.

This paper deals with an analysis of the time and effort used in working hours, sometimes higher ... more This paper deals with an analysis of the time and effort used in working hours, sometimes higher than eight hours per day, logic may have an impact on the quality of life of workers. The study is a reflection based on literature concerning possible consequences of full-time and extra work rate for workers as well as a new proposal for reorganization of work. For Marx (1985, p 149) man would be going against his nature, leaving in the process of work its basic natural resources: their Vital and Spiritual Energy; and this sometimes happens as a consequence of logic of development of work, leading to inhuman and embarrassing kind of works and tedious experiences without any meaning that may end up having mental and emotional deleterious impacts. So this paper contributes with a reflection of dominant mainstream administration thinking that is still focused more on business and money than in people. Time is not only money time is Life, so this paper may help to rethink the way we are investing our time and how our work may become more human.
