The next invention of mobile/wireless communication systems is expected to include heterogeneous ... more The next invention of mobile/wireless communication systems is expected to include heterogeneous broadband wireless networks that will coexist and use a universal IP core to propose a diverse range of high data rate multimedia services to end users with modern-day mobile devices that are equipped with multiple network interfaces since the networks have characteristics that balance each other. A authentic study by means of the integration of wireless wide area networks and wireless local area networks as an example shows that our proposed vertical handover decision algorithm is able to verify when a handover is necessary, and select for the optimum way in network that is optimized to network conditions, value of service requirements, consumer choice, and service lay out. This requires the combination and interoperation of heterogeneous networks, and the provision of - vertical handover. Here we use a fuzzy inference method to process a multi-criteria vertical handover decision metrics.
