Songs range from eerie and atmospheric to dance/trance. The 13-track album consists of original music, covers of Neil Hammond's "Songs of Love" (the themes song from the television show Father Ted) and Simon and Garfunkel's "So Long, Frank Lloyd Wright," and original renditions of American traditional songs like "In the Pines" and "The Parting Glass." This sound recording includes music originally composed by Melissa Goldsmith and Tony Fonseca, as well as produced by Goldsmith and Fonseca with sound engineering (mixing and mastering) by Goldsmith.

Professional literature shows that librarians continue to argue against the responsibilities of tenure, despite the fact that in two of the three usual rubrics of tenure and promotion-namely publication and service-the expectations for both teaching faculty and librarians are generally the same. In addition, academic librarians will not be treated equally unless they begin to think and work outside of the physical academic library. This article argues for a multidisciplinary approach to academic librarianship, with an emphasis on collaboration as a means to develop visibility through presentations at every level, publications in multidisciplinary peer-reviewed journals, professional memberships in organizations outside of librarianship, and active, vocal committee participation. By reinventing themselves as both subject/discipline and research methods experts, academic librarians will achieve greater exposure as bona fide scholars at their institutions.

Realizing what is at stake, in this article the authors ask the skeptical questions that should be considered before buying into the idea of PDA as the panacea for all circulation and budget ills. The goal of the authors is to foster pause for thought and to cause academic librarians to read more carefully the literature for its logical lapses. Since no true dialogue on PDA seems to exist, this is offered as a starting point.

The various types of crystals and their orientations were used for producing photon beams and for converting and measuring their polarisation. The radiation emitted by 178 GeV unpolarised electrons incident on a 1.5 cm thick Si crystal oriented in the Coherent Bremsstrahlung (CB) and the String-of-Strings (SOS) modes was used to obtain multi-GeV linearly polarised photon beams. A new crystal polarimetry technique was established for measuring the linear polarisation of the photon beam. The polarimeter is based on the dependence of the Coherent Pair Production (CPP) cross section in oriented single crystals on the direction of the photon polarisation with respect to the crystal plane. Both a 1 mm thick single crystal of Germanium and a 4 mm thick multi-tile set of synthetic Diamond crystals were used as analyzers of the linear polarisation. A birefringence phenomenon, the conversion of the linear polarisation of the photon beam into circular polarisation, was observed. This was achieved by letting the linearly polarised photon beam pass through a 10 cm thick Silicon single crystal that acted as a "quarter wave plate" (QWP) as suggested by N. Cabibbo et al.

By utilizing Return-On-Investment (ROI) libraries can attach dollar amounts to perceived “free services” (such as reference help, interlibrary loan, and computer labs). Public libraries have used ROI calculators such as the Weiner ROI Model but academic libraries have heretofore not made much use of the ROI model. By building on the Weiner model, the Louisiana Chapter of the ACRL hopes to build a ROI calculator that academic libraries of any size can use; to that end, the ACRL-LA has taken preliminary steps in the development of such a tool. Academic libraries, however, are as relevant as they have been historically, as their primary functions within their university missions have not changed, but merely evolved. Going beyond the Gate Count argues that the problem is not relevance, but marketing and articulation. This book offers theoretical reasoning and practical advice to directors on how to better market the function of the library within and beyond the home institution. The aim of this text is to help directors, and ultimately, their librarians and staff get students and faculty back into the library, as a result of better articulation of the library's importance. The first chapter explores the promotion of academic libraries and their function as educational systems. ...
