The biopolymer is source of natural fibers (NFs), and raw material for the production of microparticles in the form of microcrystalline cellulose (MCC), which are widely used in biomedicine, as food additives, in plastics, and other materials. In addition, cellulose has a nano-fibrillar architecture that promotes the release of free cellulose nanofibers (CNFs) and nanocrystals (CNCs). Methods of preparation, structural characteristics, properties, and applications of different types of bacterial, micro-, and nano-cellulose as part of the micro-and nanomaterial's world are given.
