Attachment research in eating disorders

However, because of the limitations of study design, few inferences could be drawn about these processes in the aetiology and maintenance of eating disorder. Since that review, there has been further development in the instruments used and the publication of several further studies of attachment processes in eating disorders. We reviewed the field, expecting that greater clarity may have emerged in the 3 years since the previous review. A review of the literature was carried out, using the computer search PsychLIT, Medline, Embase and The Cochrane Library. There have been more studies published in this area in the last 3 years than in the entire period up until then. These can broadly be divided into those carried out in clinical and non-clinical populations, with greater weight ascribed to the former. The vast majority of studies found that attachment processes, by whatever method measured, are abnormal in eating disordered populations. Attachment style (dismissing versus preoccupied) may be linked with eating disorder diagnostic subgroup. Insecure attachment is common in eating disordered populations, with implications for therapy. Further work with refined instruments may clarify whether or not there is a specific association between attachment style and eating disorder subgroup. However, such an association is likely to be complicated and it may be more fruitful to study specific aspects of attachment, rather than global attachment style, in relation to eating disorder behaviour. The transgenerational transmission of attachment is a fruitful area for further investigation in eating disordered populations.

Normalization of a spatially variant image reconstruction problem in electrical impedance tomography using system blurring properties

The electrical impedance tomography (EIT) image reconstruction problem is ill posed and spatially... more The electrical impedance tomography (EIT) image reconstruction problem is ill posed and spatially variant. Because of the problem's ill-posed nature, small amounts of measurement noise can corrupt reconstructed images. The problem must be regularized to reduce image artifacts. In this paper, we focus on the spatially variant characteristics of the problem. Correcting errors due to spatial variance should improve reconstruction accuracy. In this paper, we present methods to normalize the spatially variant image reconstruction problem by equalizing the point spread function (PSF). In order to equalize the PSF, we used the reconstruction blurring properties obtained from the sensitivity matrix. We compared three mathematical normalization schemes: pixel-wise scaling (PWS), weighted pseudo-inversion (WPI) and weighted minimum norm method (WMNM) to equalize images. The quantity index (QI), defined as the integral of pixel values of an EIT conductivity image, was considered in investigating spatial variance. The QI values along with reconstructed images are presented for cases of two-dimensional full array and hemiarray electrode topologies. We found that a spatially invariant QI could be obtained by applying normalization methods based on equalization of the PSF using conventional regularized reconstruction methods such as truncated singular value decomposition (TSVD) and WMNM. We found that WMNM normalization applied to WMNM regularized reconstruction was the best of the methods tested overall, for both hemiarray and full array electrode topologies.

A21108260 JURUSAN MANAJEMEN FAKULTAS EKONOMI DAN BISNIS UNIVERSITAS HASANUDDIN MAKASSAR 2012 ii i... more A21108260 JURUSAN MANAJEMEN FAKULTAS EKONOMI DAN BISNIS UNIVERSITAS HASANUDDIN MAKASSAR 2012 ii iii iv ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh Current Ratio (CR) dan Debt Equity Ratio (DER) terhadap Return Saham, baik secara parsial maupun simultan pada perusahaan industri manufaktur yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia antara tahun 2007 hingga tahun 2009. Metode analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis regresi linear berganda. Pengujian hipotesis dilakukan dengan uji statistik yaitu uji simultan (uji F) dan uji parsial (uji t). Sampel penelitian adalah 66 perusahaan manufaktur yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia. Analisis hasil regresi dilakukan setelah model tidak mengalami gejalagejala asumsi klasik seperti multikolinearitas, autokorelasi, dan heteroskedastisitas. Hasil pengujian hipotesis uji F menunjukkan bahwa variabel Current Ratio (CR) dan Debt to Equity ratio (DER) secara simultan berpengaruh signifikan terhadap Return saham. Hasil pengujian hipotesis uji t menunjukkan nilai t hitung untuk CR adalah 3.236 dibandingkan dengan t tabel sebesar 1.668. Sedangkan nilai t hitung untuk DER adalah 3.660 dibandingkan dengan t tabel sebesar 1.668. Dari kedua nilai t hitung yang didapatkan menunjukkan bahwa CR dan DER secara parsial berpengaruh terhadap Return Saham. Tetapi variabel yang paling dominan berpengaruh terhadap Return Saham ialah Debt To Equity Ratio (DER).
