This law also determined the teaching of African culture in Brazil in order to discuss the practices of racism, discrimination and inequality. However, the enactment of the law, although it represents a step forward towards the promotion of racial equality, unfortunately cannot guarantee its achievement. The analysis is descriptive in nature and checks the collections of Elementary School II textbooks to verity how the provisions of the Law appear in them, proposing alternatives in Langue Portuguese, teaching focused on the use of Luso-African-Brazilian literatures. We conclude that after ten years of implementation of the Law in the books of Portuguese Langue of the Elementary School II still are needed transformations as to the amount of texts of Luso-Brazilian and Luso-African authors, and mainly as to the concept of an education aimed at demystifying the African continent in its didactic presentation.
