Military Operations in the Coasts of Asia Minor 1914-18 describes, in painstaking detail in most cases, the variety of operations conducted by the Allied (Entente) powers of Great Britain and France on the coasts opposite the Greek islands from the Gulf of Edremit in the north to Antalya in the southeast, and further east in some cases, during the First World War. It deals with the operations against Smyrna, the searches conducted for German submarine «bases» all along the coasts and
measures taken against them, all known air engagements, the raids carried out by Greek irregulars -mostly from Asia Minor villages- and the support of the Royal Navy and the French Navy and «intelligence gathering» operations. It, also, describes
Entente submarine operations in the Sea of Marmara, as they caused alarm in the Turkish-German staff. An abundance of sources and archives were used to weave a unique narrative in its entity for an utterly unknown and forgotten theatre of the Great War.
