The effect of the different starches in the flotation process of minerals of hematite and quartz ... more The effect of the different starches in the flotation process of minerals of hematite and quartz that form part of a gold ore. The effect of different starches in the flotation of quartz and hematite is studied through by microflotation testing in a modified Hallimond tube. To perform this study, samples of high purity of hematite and quartz were obtained since a gold ore sample. These minerals were chosen by count through microscope. In the microflotation test, the reagents collectors utilized were SF-114, SF-323 and Lilaflot; and, the starches utilized were Dextrina Amidex 182, Dextrina Globe 8481 with gelatined and ungelatined corn flour. The results obtained showed that these starches produce different effects in the floatbility of the minerals studied. The flotation of the hematita and quartz can be enlarged or diminished by the utilization of these starches, being produced in some cases notorious differents in the flotation of both minerals.
