This document aims to showcase the research conducted by Library and Information Science (LIS) sc... more This document aims to showcase the research conducted by Library and Information Science (LIS) scholars in India from 1980 to 2019. The study's secondary data was obtained via Incites; a web-based analytical tool provided by Clarivate Analytics. According to the survey, Indian writers produced a total of 4304 papers, which garnered a total of 17523 citations. The top 100 publications, which have the largest number of citations, have been highlighted to emphasize their study issues. The analysis has examined the citations, publishing channels, and authorship of all 4304 publications. The research articles that obtained a total of 6110 citations focused on the study topics related to the applications of bibliometrics, knowledge management, and information seeking behavior on social media. The study topics that were most favored were bibliometrics, scient metrics, and informetric, followed by information seeking behavior and other related fields. The research has moreover provided an analysis about teamwork. The practice of doing research alone has evolved with writers now engaging in collaborative projects and jointly creating academic articles. The proportion of co-authored publications in India increased from 5.61% to 12.66%. The study also examined the influence of journals, the impact of authors, key journals, and the most prolific writers in the subject.
