Inter-area electromechanical oscillations are the focus of this paper. After multiresolution decomposition of characteristic signals, physical characteristics of system oscillations in signal components are identified and presented using the Fourier transform, Prony’s method, Matrix Pencil Analysis Method, S-transform, Global Wavelet Spectrum and Hilbert Huang transform (Hilbert Marginal Spectrum) in time-frequency domain representation. The analyses were performed on real frequency signals obtained from FNET/GridEye system during the earthquake that triggered the shutdown of the North Anna Nuclear Generating Station in the east coast of the United States. In addition, according to the obtained results the proposed methods have proven to be reliable for identification of the model parameters of low-frequency oscillation in power systems. The rele...

The comparison of the ancillary services’ unit prices is also given. In addition, analyses of various experiences gained by ENTSO-E countries within their electric power systems in relation to initiatives supporting the power generation from renewable energy sources (RES) and the methods of their integration into the electric power system were made. Namely, depending on the total amount of RES, depending on the incentive system for electricity production from RES and the development of an organized electricity market, different balancing responsibility models for electricity producers from RES were established.

Investigations of the impulse characteristics of transmission lines tower grounding in this paper are based on experimental analysis conducted on type “A” grounding of transmission line tower. Firstly, paper describes the problem of back-flashover and impact of transmission lines tower grounding impedance on it. Also, experimental investigation of impulse characteristics with different rise time of current wave front on real type “A” grounding are given. Finally, detail analysis of experimental data is given.

However, solar energy penetration in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and its capital Sarajevo, is not in line with the possibilities. Furthermore, the Sarajevo Canton is extremely polluted during the winter months because of the use of unacceptable heating fuel. The aim of this paper is to introduce photovoltaic power systems use in heating electrification system. In this paper AQI is calculated based on historical data and the hybrid model EMD-SARIMA for air pollution and a solar production forecast is presented. The methodology was tested in the Sarajevo Canton, taking into account 35,000 households. In order to ensure clean air, renewable electric energy use for household heating should be implemented. The widespread use of inefficient individual heating systems characterized by inefficient and expensiv...

The aim of the paper is to present a simultaneous analysis for application of both analytical and numerical models for calculation of the distribution of protective potential and current density in the cases of homogeneous and double-layer electrolytes. When considering non-linear boundary conditions at the electrode surface (secondary distribution of protective current density), the indirect boundary element method is used, because of the complexity of the calculation. Collocation at the point method was used for calculation. Due to the nonlinearity of boundary conditions at the electrode surfaces, the calculation problem is further complicated. In order to show the importance of this analysis, calculations for the observed system as well as calculations of errors caused by neglecting the boundary discontinuity of the soil conductivity are provided. Based on calculations and with respect to error analyses, the conclusive remark gives the impact valuation of the doublelayer electrolyte on the correct calculation of the cathodic protection system with galvanic anodes. This paper also gives the analysis when the double-layered nature of the electrolyte can practically be ignored, which has great importance for designers of these systems. This paper discusses the possibility of application of software packages based on finite element method (FEM), when conducting analysis of grounding systems. Firstly the paper describes a mathematical model with assumptions on which is based. Complex grounding grids buried in both single-layer and double-layer soil where analyzed. In order to verify the presented model, calculation results are compared with results of various analytical and numerical methods, as well as with measured results. Finally to show the practical application of this approach, an example of a real grounding grid is calculated.

Τhe scale and shape parameters of the Weibull's distribution are determined by the maximum likelihood estimator. The obtained results are used to calculate the electric field at arbitrary points in the neighborhood of high voltage transmission lines. The comparisons between the results computed by this method, the results calculated by the genetic algorithm, and those measured, confirm the effectiveness and accuracy of the proposed method.

The machine learning models are applied on two horizontal overhead transmission line configurations at different rated voltages, at height 1 m above ground surface. The obtained results are compared with the results obtained by charge simulation method and Biot-Savart law based method as well as with the field measurement results.

Depend on investigated values, it is possible to detect malfunctions or overvoltage in high-voltage substation. Because of these, communication system in actual high voltage substation is implemented. In the high-voltage substation disconnector and circuit breaker are installed, whose operation causing appearance of impulse noise effect in the present communication system. Disconnector's contacts in airinsulated substations (AIS) are moving slowly causing numerous strikes and re-strikes between contacts. Every strike causes highfrequency currents (from a few hundred kHz to a few MHz) tending to equalize potentials at the contacts. These processes are the source of impulse noise in the connected communication system. In this paper measured impulse noise level and estimate influence to probability of false alarm appearance in the communication system are presented.

Adequate design of the cathodic protection system requires the determination of electrical potential and current density distribution on the protected object surface that meets the defined criteria. In this paper, the application of the direct boundary element method in conjunction with Newton-Raphson method was considered for the calculation of the electric potential and current density distribution on the surface of the cathodically protected underground object. The considered method was applied on the sacrificial anode cathodic protection system of the underground pipeline. The non-linear boundary conditions of the electrode surfaces of the cathodic protection system are taken into account. The method was used to determine the current density and electric potential distribution on the external wall of the protected pipeline.
