In order to increase the productivity of human interleukin-2 (IL-2) as a model protein in the rec... more In order to increase the productivity of human interleukin-2 (IL-2) as a model protein in the recombinant E.coliBL21 (DE3), the effect of magnesium acetate and manganese acetate was studied based on full factorial design experiments magnesium acetate and manganese acetate and their interaction exhibited an increasing effect on IL-2 expression level upto 25.24%, 16.80% and 23.30%, respectively,in comparison to 10.76% for the standard M9 medium(as usual defined medium in high cell density culture). Magnesium acetate was the most effective salt. Other experiments were performed to investigate the effect of magnesium and acetate ions separately. Results revealed that M9 medium with 1.5 times of magnesium ion concentration resulted in the highest expression level.

It was found that succinimidyl carbonate at its optimum condition (pH=8.7, temperature =14 °C and reaction time =60 min) is more effective than cyanuric chloride at its optimum condition (pH=8.7, temperature =14 °C and reaction time =30 min) for RBC coating with mPEG.

The performance of a forced-liquid Vertical Tubular Loop Bioreactor (VTLB), a forced-liquid Horiz... more The performance of a forced-liquid Vertical Tubular Loop Bioreactor (VTLB), a forced-liquid Horizontal Tubular Loop Bioreactor (HTLB) and a gas-induced External Airlift Loop Bioreactor (EALB) were compared for production of biomass from natural gas. Hydrodynamic characteristics and mass transfer coefficients were determined as functions of design parameters, physical properties of gases as well as operational parameters. Moreover, energy consumption for different gas and liquid flow rates was studied. In the EALB, kinematic viscosity ( g ) showed its significant role on mixing time, gas hold-up and k L a and the diffusion coefficient of gas in water (D g ) had a remarkable effect on k L a. It was observed from experimental results that the performance of the VTLB was the best for biomass production. Furthermore, the volumetric mass transfer coefficients for air and methane were determined at different geometrical and operational factors. New correlations for mixing time, gas hold-up and k L a were obtained and expressed separately. Also, the different ratios of methane and air were measured and compared for optimum growth in the VTLB, HTLB and EALB.

Many studies suggested that fractals could be brought in any structural anarchy, such as cancers,... more Many studies suggested that fractals could be brought in any structural anarchy, such as cancers, for diagnosis and prognosis evaluation by quantifying it and expressing it in terms of fractal geometry. In this study, we aimed to evaluate pathologic grades or breast carcinomas by fractal analysis. This cross-sectional study was performed on 60 women with breast ductal carcinoma. From all the patients some photographs from the smears with pathological standard and with a digital camera were taken to analyze them by MATLAB software via Box-Counting method. The used analytical methods were ANOVA and T tests. There was a significant association between fractal count and the pathological grade (P<0.05). According to the findings of this study, fractal count was a prognostic indicator in breast cancer patients. However, we recommended performing further studies with higher sample size and in other types of cancers.
Background: Tonsillectomy is still one of the most common surgeries in the world which is accompa... more Background: Tonsillectomy is still one of the most common surgeries in the world which is accompanied by severe pain post-operatively. Although analgesic drugs are used orally or parenterally to control post-tonsillectomy pain, it is still one of the complications of this procedure especially in adults. Regarding the controversy in the role of injection of local analgesic drugs in tonsillectomy and the high prevalence of this procedure, the present study was performed to evaluate the effect of local bupivacaine infiltration, as an analgesic drug on pain after tonsillectomy in patients older than 9 years of ages. A double-blind experimental clinical trial was performed during a 3-year-period of time. One hundred and seven patients over 9 years old who were candidates for tonsillectomy because of recurrent tonsillitis (more than 6 times in a year or more than 3 times for at least two consecutive years), were selected. All patients underwent tonsillectomy by dissection/snare technique, and suturing the bleeding sites. The method of anesthesia was similar in all individuals. For each patient, 5 ml of 0.5% bupivacaine was injected into one tonsil, as the case, and 5 ml of normal saline was injected into the other one, as the control. Neither the surgeon nor the patient was aware of the content of these two injectable materials. The type of material was randomly selected for each tonsil. The intensity of post-tonsillectomy pain at each side was measured 4, 8, and 24 hours and one week post-operatively by numeric pain intensity scale (NPS) in 107 patients. Data were analyzed by SPSS software and paired t-test with 95% confidence interval. Results: This study showed that the difference in the mean level of post-tonsillectomy pain was significant between the case and the control groups regardless of age (p<0.001 for 4, 8 and 24 hours and p<0.1 for a week postoperatively). Furthermore, there was a statistically significant difference in the mean level of pain after tonsillectomy among the male patients regardless of age between the two groups 4, 8 and 24 hours, postoperatively (p<0.001). This difference was not significant one week after surgery (p<0.02).In females, the difference in the mean level of post-tonsillectomy pain regardless of age was statistically significant between the two groups in four different times of evaluation(p<0.02). Therefore, it is useful to perform a task with light and low-powered sensors and as quickly as possible. In this proposal, we consider some of the fundamental tasks performed by MAVs and propose methods by which a MAV can achieve these tasks more efficiently and robustly. In fact, the designers of the new banking system in Iran have started simulating the system of interest by creating a new synthetic contract which has led to numerous losses and downfall for the country's banking and economic system. The notable point in analyzing the problems in the current banking system is, knowing that the theoretical source of the current banking system is the act of interest-free banking approved in 1984. This act is by no means, the result of a philosophical view on Islamic economic law. Furthermore, there exists other challenges in this regard, some of which are executives ones due to the country's wrong-operating banking system. Other challenges are not related to Islamic banking and more or less, all banks in the world are faced with them.

Materials and methods: Materials and methods: Materials and methods: Materials and methods: In a Cohort design, 35 mothers of deaf children with cochlear implantion admitted to the clinic of Baqiyatallah hospital during January 2008 – January 2010 were selected through systematic sampling. Information of demography, depression and anxiety are obtained from the parents by checklist and beck questionnaires, respectively. Re sults:Mean depression and anxiety scores in cochlear implant candidates were more than cochlear implant recipients. The difference was significant in depression and anxiety (P=0.001). Conclusion:It seems that cochlear implant use leads to decrease of depression and anxiety but still high prevalence of these complications than the normal population.

Sampling was done throughout one year from April 2010 to March 2011 using electrofishing (DC at 200-300 V., 50 Hertz frequencies and one anode). Univariate analysis of variance (ANOVA) and principal component analysis were conducted and the ANOVA revealed significant differences in 27 morphometric and 9 meristic factors (P<0.05). Morphometric characteristics were standardized before analysis for alleviating the errors due to algometric growth. According to the result, the average Coefficient of variation (%CV) of morphometric and meristic characteristics for male were 19.89% and4.42% respectively and for females were 19.64 % and 3.26% respectively. Investigating Frequency and Type of Lexical Collocations in Applied Linguistics Journal Articles Written in English by Iranian and Norwegian Scholars
In today’s academic world, the research interest in corpus linguistics has shifted towards word c... more In today’s academic world, the research interest in corpus linguistics has shifted towards word co-occurrence rather than single words. Accordingly, a great body of literature has been devoted to investigations of recurrent word combinations in academic prose using frequency and dispersion parameters. This has resulted in analysis of corpus in different fields of study to collect comprehensive lists of academic collocations. Moreover, many contrastive studies have been conducted to compare the collocations used by native and non-native speakers of English. However, to the author’s knowledge, few studies have been conducted to compare the most frequent collocations in two corpora of research articles written by non-native speakers of English published in international journals in the field of applied linguistics. To fill this gap in the literature, the current study investigated the most frequent collocations used by Iranian and Norwegian scholars in a corpus of 17 articles published in the Journal of Pragmatics through a frequency-based approach. Nine out of 17 articles were written by Iranian scholars including 67,673 words and eight out of 17 articles were written by Norwegian scholars comprising of 64,682 words. The data of this study were collected using Collocation Extract software. The results of the study were presented in three phases. In the first phase, 15 most frequent lexical collocations in both corpora were identified which were classified under three types of lexical collocations. Based on what was obtained, Adj+N collocation type had the most proportion in the corpora while Adv+Adj type had the least proportion. In the second phase, the lexical collocations of the Iranian corpus were presented including a total of 818 collocations classified under five types. According to the results, Adj+N was the most frequent type while N+V was the least frequent one. Similar to the Iranian corpus, lexical collocations of the Norwegian corpus were identified. They were classified under four types including a total of 462, among which Adj+N was the most frequent type while Adv+Adj was the least frequent one. In the third phase, frequencies of lexical collocations were compared in the two corpora. According to the obtained results, the two corpora did not have any had significant difference in the use of all types of collocation except for Adj+N type of lexical collocations

However, in spite of the importance of training, the unskilled workforce is one of the most problematic factors for doing business in Iran. Therefore, the current paper aims to introduce a new training model the application of which will improve the training state and the performance of Iranian SMEs. To achieve the goal of the research first, the factors for increasing training motivation have been identified. Second, performance indicators have been selected. Third, the questionnaires have been prepared in a way to obtain data on the motivation factors and performance indicators. Further, a survey of 714 Iranian SMEs has been conducted. The collected data have been analyzed to test the relationship between training and motivation; training and performance. Finally, athree-dimensional training model has been introduced based on the analysis results.

The controlled synthesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) using cell-free filtrate of Fusarium oxy... more The controlled synthesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) using cell-free filtrate of Fusarium oxysporum fungus was investigated. The effect of fungal incubation period on nanoparticle formation and nitrate reductase enzyme activity was studied using UV-visible spectroscopy and Harley assay, respectively. The highest AgNP formation was observed in the cell-free filtrate of biomass harvested at the early stationary phase where the NR enzyme activity is the maximum. Mixing of the cell-free filtrates of fungal cultures obtained at 23, 28, and 33 C with silver nitrate solution confirms the higher productivity of AgNP biosynthesis using the cell-free filtrate of fungus incubated at 28 C. The effect of some factors such as carbon and nitrate sources and light in fungal incubation period on nitrate reductase induction and AgNP formation was also evaluated. In conclusion, increasing nitrate and carbon sources and presence of light induced NR enzyme and produced AgNPs with smaller size, higher monodispersity, and productivity. Results revealed that the presence of ammonium prevents the NR enzyme secretion and causes to the lower productivity of AgNPs.

The present study aimed to investigate simple and multiple relationships of organizational cultur... more The present study aimed to investigate simple and multiple relationships of organizational culture and its components (creativity and innovation, competitiveness, attention to group, attention to organizational members, attention to details, attention to result and output, and stability and durability) with teachers' effectiveness in high schools of the city of Shavor. For this purpose, samples consisting of 184 female and male teachers of these schools were chosen by using stratified random sampling. To collect data, they were given the two realized questionnaires of organizational culture (using Robins and Denison's pattern) and teachers' effectiveness. Results of this study indicated that there was generally a relationship between organizational culture and teacher effectiveness. Furthermore, there was a significant relationship between components of organizational culture except "attention to details" and "attention to output and results" with teacher effectiveness. In addition, attention to group, creativity and innovation were respectively considered the best predictors of teacher effectiveness.

Information of demography, depression and anxiety are obtained from the parents by checklist and beck questionnaires, respectively. Re sults:Mean depression and anxiety scores in cochlear implant candidates were more than cochlear implant recipients. The difference was significant in depression and anxiety (P=0.001). Conclusion:It seems that cochlear implant use leads to decrease of depression and anxiety but still high prevalence of these complications than the normal population.

To achieve the goal of the research first, performance indicators have been selected. Second, the questionnaires have been prepared in a way to obtain data on SMEs performance. Further, a survey of 714 Iranian SMEs has been conducted. Finally, the collected data have been analyzed to test the relationship between training and performance.

Sampling was done throughout one year from April 2010 to March 2011 using electrofishing (DC at 200-300 V., 50 Hertz frequencies and one anode). Univariate analysis of variance (ANOVA) and principal component analysis were conducted and the ANOVA revealed significant differences in 27 morphometric and 9 meristic factors (P<0.05). Morphometric characteristics were standardized before analysis for alleviating the errors due to algometric growth. According to the result, the average Coefficient of variation (%CV) of morphometric and meristic characteristics for male were 19.89% and4.42% respectively and for females were 19.64 % and 3.26% respectively. Investigating Frequency and Type of Lexical Collocations in Applied Linguistics Journal Articles Written in English by Iranian and Norwegian Scholars
In today’s academic world, the research interest in corpus linguistics has shifted towards word c... more In today’s academic world, the research interest in corpus linguistics has shifted towards word co-occurrence rather than single words. Accordingly, a great body of literature has been devoted to investigations of recurrent word combinations in academic prose using frequency and dispersion parameters. This has resulted in analysis of corpus in different fields of study to collect comprehensive lists of academic collocations. Moreover, many contrastive studies have been conducted to compare the collocations used by native and non-native speakers of English. However, to the author’s knowledge, few studies have been conducted to compare the most frequent collocations in two corpora of research articles written by non-native speakers of English published in international journals in the field of applied linguistics. To fill this gap in the literature, the current study investigated the most frequent collocations used by Iranian and Norwegian scholars in a corpus of 17 articles published in the Journal of Pragmatics through a frequency-based approach. Nine out of 17 articles were written by Iranian scholars including 67,673 words and eight out of 17 articles were written by Norwegian scholars comprising of 64,682 words. The data of this study were collected using Collocation Extract software. The results of the study were presented in three phases. In the first phase, 15 most frequent lexical collocations in both corpora were identified which were classified under three types of lexical collocations. Based on what was obtained, Adj+N collocation type had the most proportion in the corpora while Adv+Adj type had the least proportion. In the second phase, the lexical collocations of the Iranian corpus were presented including a total of 818 collocations classified under five types. According to the results, Adj+N was the most frequent type while N+V was the least frequent one. Similar to the Iranian corpus, lexical collocations of the Norwegian corpus were identified. They were classified under four types including a total of 462, among which Adj+N was the most frequent type while Adv+Adj was the least frequent one. In the third phase, frequencies of lexical collocations were compared in the two corpora. However, in spite of the importance of training, the unskilled workforce is one of the most problematic factors for doing business in Iran. Therefore, the current paper aims to introduce a new training model the application of which will improve the training state and the performance of Iranian SMEs. To achieve the goal of the research first, the factors for increasing training motivation have been identified. Second, performance indicators have been selected. Third, the questionnaires have been prepared in a way to obtain data on the motivation factors and performance indicators. Further, a survey of 714 Iranian SMEs has been conducted. The collected data have been analyzed to test the relationship between training and motivation; training and performance. Finally, athree-dimensional training model has been introduced based on the analysis results.

The controlled synthesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) using cell-free filtrate of Fusarium oxy... more The controlled synthesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) using cell-free filtrate of Fusarium oxysporum fungus was investigated. The effect of fungal incubation period on nanoparticle formation and nitrate reductase enzyme activity was studied using UV-visible spectroscopy and Harley assay, respectively. The highest AgNP formation was observed in the cell-free filtrate of biomass harvested at the early stationary phase where the NR enzyme activity is the maximum. Mixing of the cell-free filtrates of fungal cultures obtained at 23, 28, and 33 C with silver nitrate solution confirms the higher productivity of AgNP biosynthesis using the cell-free filtrate of fungus incubated at 28 C. The effect of some factors such as carbon and nitrate sources and light in fungal incubation period on nitrate reductase induction and AgNP formation was also evaluated. In conclusion, increasing nitrate and carbon sources and presence of light induced NR enzyme and produced AgNPs with smaller size, higher monodispersity, and productivity. Results revealed that the presence of ammonium prevents the NR enzyme secretion and causes to the lower productivity of AgNPs.

The present study aimed to investigate simple and multiple relationships of organizational cultur... more The present study aimed to investigate simple and multiple relationships of organizational culture and its components (creativity and innovation, competitiveness, attention to group, attention to organizational members, attention to details, attention to result and output, and stability and durability) with teachers' effectiveness in high schools of the city of Shavor. For this purpose, samples consisting of 184 female and male teachers of these schools were chosen by using stratified random sampling. To collect data, they were given the two realized questionnaires of organizational culture (using Robins and Denison's pattern) and teachers' effectiveness. Results of this study indicated that there was generally a relationship between organizational culture and teacher effectiveness. Furthermore, there was a significant relationship between components of organizational culture except "attention to details" and "attention to output and results" with teacher effectiveness. In addition, attention to group, creativity and innovation were respectively considered the best predictors of teacher effectiveness.
