Peer-reviewed, quarterly, and trilingual, Al-Mukhatabat publishes articles in Logic, Epistemology... more Peer-reviewed, quarterly, and trilingual, Al-Mukhatabat publishes articles in Logic, Epistemology, Arts, Technology and social sciences. The journal aims to familiarize more readers with the subtleties of scientific thought and to encourage epistemological and logically argued approaches to the treatment of ethical, social, political, aesthetic, linguistic, cognitive, anthropological, educational, religious, and metaphysical questions, as a basis for establishing a genuine and fruitful dialogue between different cultures. Articles are to be submitted anonymously to two members of the journal's scientific committee for evaluation. By sending a manuscript to the journal, the author authorizes its publication. The article should be sent in docx and pdf formats, should not exceed 30 pages (notes and bibliography included), and should be accompanied by an abstract in English and French. The article will remain the full property of the author. The author will be notified of the committee's decision within six months of its submission. Fuzzy logic lies between the frontiers of philosophy and science, between abstract thought and re... more Fuzzy logic lies between the frontiers of philosophy and science, between abstract thought and reality, between what is and what ought to be. It was the first image of logic that attempted to bring logic and life closer together, and it was invested in solving some human problems in social life through its various phenomena. Perhaps it is since its used tools, which are no longer purely simulated tools, became the largest role in its operations in the competence of the expert in designing Fuzzy groups and in developing their affiliation functions and formulating Fuzzy inference rules. How did Fuzzy Logic try to get close to the facts, listen to them, and discover their subjective logic?
This article addresses the relationship between logic and ontology in various dimensions. I chose... more This article addresses the relationship between logic and ontology in various dimensions. I chose to deal with this topic in the classical Islamic context, especially in Al-Fârâbî. My purpose, indeed, was twofold: to deal with this issue as a logical philosophical one on the one hand, and as a historical issue on the other hand. As to the logical philosophical aspect, I discussed the ontological status of what is said to be "existent" and the logical status of propositions that ascribe or deny existence to a subject. At this level, I wanted to clarify the extend of overlap between the ontological and logical considerations in Al-Fârâbî's approach to this issue. As to the historical aspect, I inquired the historical origins of the question "is existence a predicate?", which is usually attributed to Kant. My aim at both levels was to demonstrate that Al-Fârâbî addressed this question before Kant or others to whom it is attributed, and he even pointed out that there were those who dealt with it before him and his time, early and late. Indeed, the only difference between him and Kant lies in the reason for addressing this question; for while Kant discussed it in connection with his attempt to refute the ontological argument for the existence of God, as it was formulated by St. Anselm, Al-Fârâbî dealt with it for another metaphysical reason, on the one hand, and for a logical reason, on the other hand.
This research deals with the philosophical consideration of the issue of the Salafist mindset fro... more This research deals with the philosophical consideration of the issue of the Salafist mindset from an interpretive perspective in accordance with a new proposition often different from our current discourse on Salafism in terms of thinking, culture and creed. The Salafist question does not mean to be dealt with by the current globalized geopolitical discourse as a subject of sharia law, doctrine and true or false readings of the Islamic religion as regards the Quran and Sunnah. The diagnostic reading of the issue requires the following interpretation: the Salafist mindset is a structure of value, cultural and political consciousness tightly directed by those holding the reins of contemporary geopolitics. The latter may produce an illusory discourse stipulating that the Salafist question is a matter of jurisprudence and doctrine pertaining to Muslims as they are deemed ignorant of the truth of their religion. Indeed, this is pure misleading emphasizing that the issue should not be considered from its economic-political perspective, but the Salafist movement should be progressively conducted in full proportion to the geopolitical warfare of the strongest military entities in the current globalization system. Henceforth, the people of the Arab and Islamic world must revisit their perceptions already structured by the colonizers' rhetoric to remain confined to their claim that the subject of Salafism and its belief are exclusively religious. The philosophical interpretative approach, thus, concludes that the conduct of the subject of Salafism is a functional political one infor the civilization of globalization. As for most cultural elites, and sometimes even academia, it has become almost certain that dealing with Salafism and its mindset needs only its ideological hostility and security blockade, which the colonizer considerably benefits from as he is not directly exposed to any theoretical mental doubt. Here lies the main investment of the Salafist issue in the Arab and Islamic countries.
How should we argue in favor of a particular way of fixing the meaning of the logical constants t... more How should we argue in favor of a particular way of fixing the meaning of the logical constants that would be incompatible with some other, divergent one? How may we justify our choice? Taking the law of excluded middle as paradigmatic, I consider two cases: that of natural languages, and that of formal logical systems. As regards the first case, I comment on Davidson's interpretative strategy, a strategy that stems from Quine's position on the impossibility of deviant logics. As regards the second, I comment on Gödel's position on impredicative definitions and the use of excluded middle in the construction of the finitary system of recursive number theory. To fully justify a choice either in favor of excluded middle or against it, we should devise a socalled stable semantics, i.e., one with as few presuppositions as possible regarding our correct grasp of the meaning of the constants. I offer critical remarks on Dummett's construal of the required stability and on the general prospect of working out such a semantics.

The position is inspired by quantum mechanics, and particularly the phenomenon of quantum entanglement. Barad also sees similarities between her approach, N. Bohr's view and C. Rovelli's relational quantum mechanics. In our view, agential realism is a kind of ontological correlationism, not realism. The analogy with the Bohr and Rovelli approaches is only partial. Agential realism is a wrong interpretation of quantum mechanics. It is also unsuitable for social theorizing, for which considering the sensitivity of ontology to the context is fundamental. As an alternative, we propose a contextual quantum realism (CQR) that rejects substantive dualisms (as does Barad), but at the same time accepts the categorical dualism of the real and the ideal. Our approach also allows one to better understand Bohr's position and to correct Rovelli's relational quantum mechanics.

Word life is essentially coupled with the extent of its use and circulation, because use alone determines whether the term has meaning through the speaker's good words and understanding by the hearing. The word lives on as it remains used. Usage is a sign of its effectiveness, which is usually measured by understanding. It still does because it's still in the use circle. The meaning performs and occupies a position in the speech. Then the use refers to existence, it is a sign of life, just as the sign of human existence is the act of existence, because it is not enough for man to exist for his life to gain meaning, as well as the sign of linguistic existence is the act in the language and it is not enough for the word to exist to live, but to use it.

By comprehending the essence of existent entities, human beings can name their essence through the creation of representational names. This process entails a meticulous contemplation of the nature of these entities, ultimately resulting in generation of names that accurately depict their true essence. In this context, he considers individual proper names, and he is one of the firsts who expounded upon it in his authentic treatise, De mutatione nominum, which can be placed within onomastica sacra. Specifically, this examination will focus on Philo's elucidation of the "proper names" attributed to distinct religious personalities. Usually, such figures have double names one before appointment by God and one after appointment each one with its own rationale. It was agreed to denounce the "paradoxes" and "aberrations" raised using implication in propositi... more It was agreed to denounce the "paradoxes" and "aberrations" raised using implication in propositional calculus. To avoid them, special approaches have been developed ad hoc. We will show that a simple distinction between conditional and implication as well as an interpretation of the conditional in terms of incompatibility are sufficient to avoid these so-called syntactic and semantic "paradoxes". Generally, we will propose a protological of the in/compatibility alone capable of solving the question of the application of formal logic to our prosaic universe. In doing so, we will learn the lesson of the Stoics.

Arrivée à sa quatrième édition, La Conférence Francophone Interdisciplinaire Internationale Migration à Minorités est dédiée cette année à la Migration entre représentations esthétiques, espérances sociales et contraintes politiques. Le thème de la conférence est d’intérêt et d’actualité dans le paysage des sciences humaines et humanistes, comme l’ont déjà prouvé les édition antérieures de cette manifestation scientifique, mais également, juridiques, européennes et mondiales, compte tenu des changements anthropologiques, « civilisationnistes » et religieux, mais également, législatifs, sociaux, économiques, par rapport à la migration, à la condition du migrant et à celle des membres de toutes sortes de minorités, soient-elles ethniques, politiques, religieuses et/ou sexuelles.
Cette année, notre manifestation est particulièrement fléchée sur le phénomène migratoire et ses trois caractéristiques fondamentales : les représentations esthétiques des migrants, les espérances sociales et les contraintes politiques.
L’objectif de cette conférence est de réunir des chercheurs des différents domaines des recherches humanistes et humaines afin d’identifier, dans un dialogue commun, les aspects spécifiques du phénomène migratoire et les mécanismes de fonctionnement du phénomène dans les différentes régions du monde. Le thème généreux de recherche offre la possibilité d’affirmer plusieurs perspectives d’analyse du phénomène migratoire, de façon à ce que cette conférence soit ouverte également et en même temps aux lettrés et aux linguistes, aux juristes et aux sociologues, aux historiens et aux « civilisationnistes », aux anthropologues, aux économistes et aux statisticiens, tout comme aux psychologues, ainsi qu’à tous les autres spécialistes pour lesquels la migration des populations et les minorités sont un sujet d’intérêt scientifique, surtout que, cette année, en plus de la guerre en Ukraine, on assiste tous, choqués, à la crise humanitaire de Gaza, ce qui fait en sorte que le problème de la migration et des refugiés soit plus aigu et douloureux que jamais dans l’Europe des dernières décennies, ainsi que dans le monde entier.
