Introduction: Suicide among soldiers is not an instantaneous event, but it occurs as a result of ... more Introduction: Suicide among soldiers is not an instantaneous event, but it occurs as a result of such psychological and social factors as stream of thoughts, behaviors, situations and interpersonal relationships. Therefore, the main purpose of this study is to explain the psychosocial model of suicidal behavior among soldiers with emphasis on depression and group cohesion. Method: This study is a social survey, and the sample incudes 295 soldiers serving in Shahid Kebriaei Barracks in Aran va Bidgol, Iran in 2019. The Radloff Scale (CES-D) was used to assess the level of depression in soldiers, the Revised Siebold and Kelley Questionnaire was used to assess the group cohesion variable and the Revised Suicide Questionnaire (SBQ-R) was used to assess suicidal behavior. Results: According to the research findings, there is a significant correlation between group cohesion of soldiers and depression, on the one hand, and suicidal behavior, on the other. Also, the results of the structural model explain 62% of the variance of suicidal behavior among soldiers based on the linear combination of independent variables. Discussion: Interpersonal relationships play a crucial role in reducing soldiers' depression, and the more group cohesion they have, the less propensity they show for suicidal behavior.

This study is in search of modeling based on classification and separation of factors relating to... more This study is in search of modeling based on classification and separation of factors relating to commitment of university students to professional role in the framework of adherence to science norms with emphasis of theoretical framework of Weidman in relation to sociability of postgraduate students by interpretative-structural modeling. Studied statistical population is the professors of humanities faculty in Kashan University. 10 people were selected by purposive sampling and their opinions were used in this study. According to study's results, formation of student identity is placed at the highest level of factors relating to commitment to the professional role of students. Scientific sociability consisted of variables such as educational culture of faculty, interaction to friends; academic sociability and membership in professional communities were identified in the second level of efficacy as a linking variable.
