
Éric Baratay
Agrégation holder in History (1984), senior lecturer (1994) and professor (2001), his research first dealt with religious history before focusing on the relationships between man and animals and later on on the history of animals. He has published 14 books, 208 articles or contributions, directed 7 collectives volumes books and co-directed 5 collective volumes. Six personnal books have been translated in 10 languages. Two of which were rewarded thrice by national academies. He has been promoted to the rank of Exceptionnal Class 1 professor (CNU, 2015) and (final) Exceptionnel Class 2 professor (CNU, 2021), senior member of the Institut Universitaire de France (2017-2021 and 2022-2027).
