iMesh

iMesh is a free multilingual P2P solution that offers a whole set of useful utilities. This application provides a search engine that makes it possible to search for video and/or audio files of a specified artist, album, or song (the auto-suggest option speeds up this process). The results will include all the video and audio files in the iMesh database, plus photographs, album covers, track lists, as well as information about the latest releases, and the possibility to purchase them. Most of the videos are from the YouTube site.

This application provides video and audio players, so we can instantly view those videos, download, and burn them. It is possible to view the artists' fan list, including their individual profiles. Optionally, we can add them as friends, send them a message, and share our music with one or all iMesh users. Now, this program enables us to manage our own CDs, including playing/ejecting/burning them. We can also import our mp3 files to our iPod or MP3 player without the need of any other application. Note that this program is only available for people over 13 years old, and there are parental control settings for teenagers between 13 and 18 years.

Although the overall quality is hardly satisfactory for the music fans, this program may serve well as an introduction for the rest of users. And best of all, it is free.
