ABOUT US
IM—1776 is an independent magazine of cultural analysis, published by The Art & Literature Foundation, a non-profit organization created from the magazine.
Launched in September 2020 on a shoestring budget, IM—1776 has punched far above its weight, critically advancing discussions on topics including the future of art, contemporary philosophy, mass migration, and the politics of health through detailed long-form journalism, penetrating cultural criticism, bold political commentary, important interviews, and sophisticated analyses of contemporary events.
IM—1776's aim is to recapture the spirit of the golden age of American reporting by sending talented writers and photographers across America and the rest of the world, and to advance detailed discussions of complex cultural and political challenges with the aim of contributing to renewal and pioneering industrial innovation.
