愛に生きて

For the last couple of weeks I've been wavering between dread and excitement waiting for the latest Shin Domoto Kyoudai episode. Now that I've seen it, I'm not sure what to think.

Cons:
- I MISS BROTHER TOM SO MUCH. It's going to take me a while to get over this. ;_;
- I am not a fan of the new visual style - the logo, the on-screen text, and the set design are really not doing it for me. :(
- They got rid of their three female regulars and I believe several female chorus members as well, and all we got in return is Takamina. THIS SHOW ONLY HAS ONE GIRL ON IT NOW. WHAT. *raging*
- Not sure how I feel about them replacing Ichimon Ittou. It's been working for them for, what, eight years now? Don't fix what isn't broken, guys.
- New seating arrangement - way to alienate the guest. AND ALSO KOICHI. I'm pretty pissed about this Koichi-as-host, Tsuyoshi-as-regular thing. I want to see Koichi doing fun things too! Koichi is pretty much my favorite thing about this show, and if the new arrangement means we get less crack from him, I'll be very displeased.

THAT SAID...

Pros:
- I love all three of the new members. Nishikawa especially never fails to make me laugh.
- Takeda Shinji is still among the regulars, thank goodness. I hope they give him a good long run there, because he is just about the cutest human being in the world. ♥
- The pre-show dressing room segment was fun. Even if I may have mostly enjoyed it for the nostalgic value (Shinohara mention! :D)
- KinKi still bring the lulz. The wig jokes never stop being funny for some reason, and I was seriously crying of laughter during the photography segment, even though I knew it was coming.
- Speaking of lulz...

Rofl, what is this. I can't get over Tsuyoshi's deranged smile.

So in all, I'm not totally happy but it could certainly be worse. I'm interested to see where they go from here.

still_ciircee wrote me KinKi fic!!!!!!! And now my love for her is overflowing into this journal entry, hahaha.

I have a feeling I'm going to be floating around on a little cloud of happiness over this for a long time to come. :D :D :D

I'll be sad to see October go. :(

It always freezes up for me around 1070, which is... probably a good thing, so I don't go on playing for too long, but it's really fun and for a good cause, so if anyone on my flist hasn't seen this yet, I recommend it. Not when you have things you need to get done, though, hahaha.

Guys, Shinohara Tomoe is going on SDK again. I am already dying of excitement over this and I've only known about it for a couple days. HOW AM I GOING TO SURVIVE THE WAIT? D:

Anybody have some good time-wasting methods to take my mind off it?

ETA: ADORABLE!! She says she made everything herself this time. Lol. I guess she didn't want them teasing her about it again.
ETA2: OMGOMG there is also going to be a surprise phone call to Yoshida Takuro, dlkajsdlaslkdal, THIS KEEPS GETTING BETTER AND BETTER.

Tsuyoshi's eyebrows.

Guys, I don't even.... Has anyone else seen this yet? I do not know what to think except WHYYYY?

I didn't even notice at first, just had this vague feeling that something was off, and then I saw it in the article, like, "Hm? Tsuyoshi's eyebrows? Wha- OH MY GOD."

Seriously. Seriously. I would like to believe that it will grow on me, but I'M REALLY NOT SURE. SOMEONE GIVE ME SOME WORDS OF COMFORT.

Boku no Kutsu Oto was a column of Domoto Tsuyoshi's that ran in Myojo from 1999-2005. After it ended, all the essays were collected into a book and released. I wish I could offer up the original articles, actually, because they had a much prettier format, but this will have to do. Also, I FAIL AT SCANNING THINGS, so I apologize for the sketchy quality. It's plenty readable, I promise. :)

This post is mainly for Becky. I’m not sure how interested she’ll be now, but about a year ago we were discussing Johnny’s Countdown and she mentioned her hesitance to watch some of the earlier years because she wasn’t sure how much screentime Arashi got. I’m kind of a Countdown junkie, so I highly recommend watching them in full, but I decided to write out a list of all the musical numbers and participants in each one. This way it will hopefully make for easy reviewing and skipping around.

Hopefully someone will make good use of this list, but if not, at least it was a lot of fun to put together! Here’s hoping 2009-2010 will be another good one. :)
