Jerry Bruckheimer is an American television and film producer. Born September 21st, 1945, Bruckheimer got his start producing TV commercials in New York. He later moved to Los Angeles to pursue a film production opportunity. During the 80s and 90s, Bruckheimer partnered with Don Simpson to produce such films as Flashdance, Beverly Hills Cop, Top Gun and Days of Thunder. When Simpson died unexpectedly, Bruckheimer stepped out on his own producing big budget action movies including Armageddon, Black Hawk Down and Pirates of the Caribbean. In 1997, Bruckheimer began working in television, creating such hits as CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and The Amazing Race. He is a hockey fan and a supporter of George Bush. In 2006 he was given a doctor of fine arts degree from the University of Arizona’s College of Fine Art, where he had received a bachelor of psychology degree several years earlier.
