Gaborone, Botswana, is the host city of IGALA 10. Gaborone is a fast growing and vibrant city which is well known for its peace and colourfulness. It boasts of many shopping centres with a variety of entertainment facilities and eateries to suit every taste. It also has a number of historical and cultural monuments, a museum and art gallery, a rhino sanctuary and many more places to see.

The conference will take place at the University of Botswana’s Gaborone campus in Building 252 near the New Student Centre.   The facility boasts of four large lecture theatres with large double screens for projecting videos and power point slides. For parallel sessions there are several classrooms (capacity 40 people in each) with networked computers for all media presentations (video/audio and PowerPoint).

The University of Botswana is the first and largest public university, with a main campus in Gaborone and two satellite campuses, one of which is the Okavango Research Institute based in Maun, near the Okavango delta. This campus specializes on the Okavango wetlands research activities. The University of Botswana has a student population of about 17, 000 students across its campuses and a staff compliment of around 2, 500. It has about eight faculties, including the Faculty of Humanities, which will host IGALA 10, the Faculty of Health Sciences, Faculty of Engineering, and Faculty of Business.  The University also has a modern indoor sports complex which houses, among others, student and staff gyms, and there’s a large swimming pool nearby.

For those who wish to connect with family and friends there is wifi available in most parts of the university. Arrangements will be made to provide delegates with a password to use the university wifi.
