IFLAcamp #5

The 5th edition of IFLAcamp will take place on August 17th and 18th in Wrocław, Poland, prior to the IFLA WLIC.

IFLAcamp is a two-day unconference that provides plenty of space for ad-hoc sessions and group discussions. The participant-driven approach allows for active involvement of all attendees and including all kinds of topics of interest.

The aim of the IFLAcamp is to attract new professionals – by spirit not necessarily by age – to an unconference where we discuss hot topics in the library world.

IFLAcamp is organized by NPSIG since 2010 prior to the IFLA WLIC.

Unconference at the Library

9:00 – 5:00

The first day will be settled at the very heart of Wroclaw, the famous Rynek, at Dolnośląska Biblioteka Publiczna im. Tadeusza Mikulskiego — the Regional public library of Wroclaw.

It will be dedicated to exploring a variety of trends: you can come with a topic you would like to talk about with professionals from all over the world; we vote in the morning to decide what will be explored during the day.

In addition to the lively discussion, during the day we will have a special Movement workshop held by Anna Olkinuora from UtoUto performing arts company. Workshop is about daring to give the body freedom of being an important part of creative processes, provoke mind and connect it with ideas through the different “logic”, also to brush up the ability of alternative from spoken word ways of communication. Cycling for libraries

The second day will be dedicated to a short Cycling for libraries tour in the Wroclaw area, an opportunity to meet Polish librarians and see points of interest.

Starting point: 9:00am at Rynek square, Dolnośląska Biblioteka Publiczna im. Tadeusza Mikulskiego — the Regional public library of Wroclaw.

In between we will be cycling on the streets and cycling paths, wearing branded vests letting everyone know that the librarians are in town!
