The purpose of the paper is to collect information on education and experience of those who practice clinical therapy in Iceland, theirs perspective on education and training and the therapy approach Icelandic therapists use in their work. Also this paper is to explain how Icelandic therapists use and view supervision and further more how they view official monitoring of self – employed therapist. For reference the stand on those issues in the USA and the UK are reviewed. A quantitative research method was used to gather data. Therapist from six different disciplines participates and then descriptive statistics is used to analyze the data. The main findings are that Icelandic therapists education level is equal to what is known in the USA and the UK but clinical experience is considerably less in this country than in the countries of reference. In general Icelandic therapists are content with their education and clinical experience, they consider supervision to be important but only half of them seek supervision on regular basis. A large majority of Icelandic therapists think that monitoring of self-employed therapists is inadequate.
