About Dr. Anika Niambi Al-Shura
Dr. Anika Niambi Al-Shura was born in Louisville, KY. in 1973 and has one son who was born in 1993. She attended the J. Graham Brown School and graduated in 1991, studied biology, chemistry, physics and humanities at Western Ky University, University of Louisville and Life University. Later she studied at East West College of Natural Medicine and received her bachelor’s degree in health sciences and master’s degree in Oriental Medicine in 2004. The same year, Dr. Al-Shura moved to China. 2004-2006 Dr. Al-Shura interned in acupuncture department at Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, studied TCM Cardiology at Shandong Provincial Hospital Medicine and taught at Shandong Medical University. 2007-2009 Dr. Al-Shura studied through internal medicine and surgery with Traditional Chinese Medicine and cardiology with non-invasive intervention at First Affiliated Hospital of Jiujiang University and taught medical sciences at the medical school. 2009-2013, Dr Al-Shura studied in the University Ambrosiana PhD in medical education program, conducted field research while teaching medical subjects at Tianjin Medical University. She also studied Internal medicine and cardiology with non-invasive intervention and researched her own herbal medicine extracts in the pharmacology department at Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. In 2010, Dr. Al-Shura continued structuring the Niambi Wellness Institute by establishing a natural pharmacy with an archive of her herbal medicine research. 2013 Dr. Al-Shura received a Chinese Government doctoral scholarship and studied at Nanjing University. She also signed on as an author with Elsevier Academic Press. In 2014 Dr. Al-Shura graduated with a PhD in medical education from the University Ambrosiana Program. The same year, she published her doctoral dissertation as a textbook along with 6 textbooks with Elsevier Academic Press.
The PhD dissertation adapted into a textbook title is "Integrative Cardiovascular Chinese Medicine: A Personalized Medicine Perspective" Anika Niambi Al-Shura, Elsevier Academic Press 2014 ISBN: 978-0-12-800125-7.
