About Hypixel Studios

Founded in 2018, Hypixel Studios has been on a long journey to deliver their first game, Hytale.

In April 2020 the studio was acquired by Riot Games. After a hard-fought 5 years, vision and engine changes, and team expansion. It was announced on June 23, 2025 that Hypixel Studios were ending their development of Hytale and winding down their studio.

The original founders have not been involved with the project since 2020 - however - after hearing the outcry of support from Hytale's fans and community, they made an offer to Riot Games to re-acquire Hytale.

November 2025, Hytale and Hypixel Studios is now back in the hands of its original founders. It now operates as a fully independent and self-funded studio with over 40 developers.

The studio mission is to apply years of collective experience in the modding and minigame server scenes to independent game development, providing community-empowering games that meet the needs of players and content creators alike.
