Frequently Asked Questions

Got questions? We've got answers

Do I need to bring my own soldering equipment? +
Nope! We provide all the soldering equipment, components, and badges. Just bring yourself and your enthusiasm. We have enough badges for everyone attending the conference.
I've never soldered before. Can I still participate? +
Absolutely! The Soldering Village is beginner-friendly. Our volunteers will be there to guide you through the process. And if you really can't solder, just post about the conference on social media and take a badge home anyway!
How do I register for the GeoGuessr Tournament? +
Registration details will be announced soon! Since we're limited to 100 participants, spots will be first-come-first-served. Follow our social media channels or check back here for registration links.
What's the badge challenge about? +
The badges contain a hidden hardware/firmware challenge. We won't spoil the fun, but solving it requires some reverse engineering skills. Crack it and win prizes!
When will CFP decisions be made? +
We'll review submissions on a rolling basis and notify speakers by mid-January 2026. Submit early for the best chance of being selected!
What topics are you looking for in CFP submissions? +
We want technical, hardware-focused talks on embedded systems, satellite security, OT/ICS hacking, reverse engineering, IoT security, firmware analysis, side-channel attacks, RF hacking, and any other hardware security topics. Original research and practical demos are especially encouraged.
Can I attend all activities? +
Yes! All activities are included with your conference pass. The only exception is the GeoGuessr Tournament which has limited spots, so registration is required.
Will talks be recorded? +
Recording details will be confirmed closer to the event. We typically work with speakers to determine recording preferences on a case-by-case basis.
Is there a dress code? +
This is a hacker conference—wear whatever makes you comfortable! Most people wear t-shirts, hoodies, and jeans. Just don't forget to wear your badge with pride once you solder it.
