education with emphasis on China as an emerging preferred study location
by most international students in recent times. 583 international students

methods. The study adopted the descriptive survey design, using an online
questionnaire which was generated by the Microsoft Survey application and
sent via personal online platforms. The data were analyzed using means (including mean of means) and standard deviations (including mean of standard
deviation) for all questions. From the findings, it was revealed that most students now have a strong desire for international education for the purposes of
getting international certifications, meeting new faculty, changing environment and having access to well-equipped universities. In addition, the study
revealed that, most international students now choose to study in China in
order to enjoy scholarships from the Chinese government and universities,
learn the Chinese language, enjoy higher chances of gaining admission for
subsequent studies, experience simple visa processes, experience the fast growth
of the Chinese economy at firsthand as well as enjoy from the relatively low
costs of obtaining a degree and living in China. Furthermore, the study also
revealed that, in recent times, most international students do not patronize
universities in the western countries as before, for reasons such as cumbersome visa processes, inability to properly integrate into western cultures as
well as the relatively high costs of obtaining a degree and living there. The
study also revealed that a few outstanding benefits of studying in China include: the establishment of business partnerships, higher post-graduation employment prospects, personal safety and the strategic positioning of China as
a link to the rest of the world. The study further recommended that: the Chinese government through the Ministry of Education (MOE), should continuously put in place measures to attract more higher-calibre international
students from all over the world by making sure all internationalized schools
adjust to global standards, university authorities should also arrange necessary
internship opportunities for international students to help bridge the gap between the job market and the classroom. In addition, higher institutions’ administrators and other concerned stakeholders of international education should
continuously implement sustainable measures to bring in more international
students by providing foreigner-friendly services. Furthermore, on the part
of international students, they must plan well and do enough research on the
chosen study location before making an attempt to school abroad, they must
also learn to abide strictly by the laws of their chosen location of study, so as
to enjoy their time of study. Moreover, in choosing a location of study abroad,
they can consider schooling either in the West or in the East, provided the
prevailing conditions in the chosen location meets their expectations. Finally,
schooling in China is a recommended option due to the relative possible benefits during and even after the completion of studies.

The study focused on the content suitability, suitability of the specific objectives, availability of teaching-learning resources, appropriateness of methods of teaching as well as evaluation methods. The sample comprised of forty (40) S.H.S. Economics teachers from thirteen (13) Senior High Schools in the Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly of the Central Region of Ghana, using the stratified sampling technique. The study answered four research questions, using a questionnaire of thirty-three (33) questions. The study adopted the descriptive survey design, using open-ended and closed-ended questions factored into questionnaires which were personally administered. The data for the closed-ended part was analyzed using the SPSS software, with keen interest on descriptive and inferential statistics while the open-ended questions provided some relevant suggestions in themes. The result of the study indicated that the time allocated for teaching the content of the syllabus was not suitable. Also, it was revealed that the objectives of the syllabus were achievable. In addition, the study came out with the findings that the syllabus does not contain different varieties of teaching methods
prescribed for teaching each topic. The teaching learning resources were also not adequate, however there were variety of evaluation methods. Based on the findings, it was recommended that curriculum planners should design the syllabus such that
it can be imparted to students within the time allocated for teaching. The objectives must also be revised periodically to meet the changing trends in the world. Again, the methods of teaching should include educational technology such as the use of information communication technology and audio-visual aids. Furthermore, there
can also be periodic visits to centres of commerce and economic activities for students to have a practical feel of Economics at work.

The study adopted the descriptive survey design, using open-ended and closed-ended online questionnaire which was generated using the Microsoft form survey and sent via personal WeChat and WhatsApp platforms. The data was analyzed using means
(including mean of means) and standard deviations (including mean of standard deviation) for the close-ended questions, while the open-ended questions provided some relevant suggestions in themes. From the findings, it was revealed that: most
international students from non-native English-speaking countries agreed they were having a peculiar language need that limited their ability to function well in and outside the classroom such as difficulties in making and taking notes, reading, doing assignments as well as attempting examination questions very well, all in English language. Moreover, majority of the respondents agreed that English language as a medium of instruction was ideal. The study also revealed that they found the
use of their local languages more convenient. Finally, they agreed that the use of translation aids, formation of nationality and program-based groups, English literature were some existing remedies, even though a significant portion of the respondents expressed disagreements and uncertainties regarding these remedies. In addition, the thematic responses from the open-ended section, revealed the need the for the promotion of adaptational English language courses and special classification-tests, provision of special English language-aiding offices and services as well as creation of avenues for the purpose of bridging the gap between technicalities in various programs of study. The study recommended that; English tests for purposes of classification and formal compulsory English for Academic Purposes (EAP) courses be organized for freshmen. Furthermore, it was recommended that various departments/colleges in community-based universities should run continuous ‘Professional/Technical’ (course content) short courses for both freshmen and continuing students and then English session workshops be organized periodically to address some key topics of common interest such as the writing of research papers.
