Due to a high volume and the recent holidays, Humane Intelligence is working through new volunteer requests. Please expect a response by the end of January 2026 if you have not already heard back from us. Starting February 2026, we will also be temporarily pausing new volunteer requests to focus our time on engaging current volunteers.
In 2025, Humane Intelligence launched a website for our TFGBV taxonomy / ontology. We are looking for one or more volunteers to help us redesign the user interface! We are flexible on the outputs, be it wireframes or prototypes, new proposed primary paths / user workflows, or a coded front-end. Note that Humane Intelligence is not receiving compensation for this work, nor is it part of any project deliverable. This is a website that is near and dear to our heart, and its redesign is a nice-to-have for us in 2026. We welcome students, designers at any level, or anyone looking to build up their UXR or UI portfolio.
Humane Intelligence and a partner organization we’ll announce soon are exploring the creation of an AI in Public Health fund. We are seeking volunteers to help us define what the fund will cover and how it will be capitalized. Note this is a formal working group that requires sign up and approval.
Humane Intelligence is seeking volunteer researchers for the following:
Coming to one of our upcoming events? Please reach out if you can help us take photos, gather participant quotes, or help us promote our work! We are also seeking a volunteer video editor to help us refine our past event assets and post them on YouTube. We are flexible on which software is used to edit the videos and only need the final cuts. We are also flexible on timeline.
We recently relaunched our blog and are looking for guest contributors to work with us on new posts. We are especially interested in topics related to our priority areas:
We have a vibrant Discord community and anyone interested in our work is welcome to participate! Click here to join.
