Against Cohen Klatzkin demands a radical Zionist turn which he describes as the secularisation of Israel as a sovereign political nation. Klatzkin`s political theology, in spite of its similarities with Carl Schmitt, nevertheless turns against a "colonial" Zionism and joins the leftist fraction promoting a Jewsih Arab coalition.

The basic argument has, that Scholem`s turn to Kabbala was initially meant as a radical critique of Jewish enlightnement and the Science of Judaism, but was later replaced by a theory of the mystical symbol derived from Ernst Cassirer`s philosophy of Symbolic forms, indicating a return to enlightened Judaism. But this return leaned on a spcific interpretation of Jewish Gnosis as the possibility of a legitimation of Jewish enlightended and pluralistic modernity
