It's the fifth of November, and HPEF is happy to be participating in the LJ Harry Potter Reunion!

HP-Reunion is the community. There are different posts there every day.

In celebration of the reunion, this post is to host your favorite memories of HP panels, round tables, presentations, or special events at any of the conferences over the years. Was your favorite memory the Trial of Snape at the Witching Hour? Or did you go crazy for StarKid Potter at Infinitus? Maybe your best memory is going to see The Final Battle at LeakyCon 2011 - share your choices here.

We at HPEF know that no matter what programming is planned at any con, the single best experience is to be with friends. The room parties, the hanging out, the meetups, the film premieres - they're all great! But today we are asking you to think back to something that was on the programming agenda, of whatever conference, wherever, whenever, and share with everyone what, where, and why it stands out for you.

Registration Stuffing Party! [Jun. 23rd, 2012|10:31 pm]
HP Education Fanon, Inc.

Hi, all!

Online Registration for Ascendio closes in just over TWO DAYS! (There's still time to register if you're considering coming! We will also have day passes available at the door.)

As we did for Infinitus, etakyma and I are having a registration prep party next weekend, June 30 and July 1, to label, stamp, stuff, and collate most of the registration packets, before we hit the road.

All are welcome to come by and help or hang out, even if you're not able to attend Ascendio.

We'll be at the Candlewood Suites in Burlington, MA, Saturday all day and evening and Sunday until probably about 5 PM.

The Candlewood is at 130 Middlesex Turnpike, just down the road from the Burlington Mall. If you are coming via the T, the 360 bus runs from Alewife right past the hotel (it's the Burlington Mall Road stop).

C'mon by and say Hello!

(And if you still need to register for Ascendio, Do It Now!)

While millions of readers worldwide are about to read the final chapters of Harry Potter’s epic story, HP Education Fanon, Inc. (HPEF) is looking to his—and our—next adventure.

The end of the Harry Potter series is only the beginning of an infinite number of possibilities for the fandom.

Therefore, HPEF is proud to announce “Infinitus 2010,” a Harry Potter conference to take place July 15-18 2010 in Orlando, Florida – home to the all-new “World of Harry Potter” attraction at Universal Orlando Resort.

Hotel, Registration rates, and additional event information are forthcoming. As always, registrants can expect our high commitment to strong and diverse formal and informal programming on topics from Alchemy to Zoology and every subject in between. The conference agenda will also include at least one event at the “World of Harry Potter” theme park, allowing our attendees to explore and immerse themselves in the Wizarding World as never before.

HPEF is also pleased to endorse a team of organizers with a firm background in our conferences and event philosophy. Infinitus’ Minister of Magic, Kari Phillips, is the Head of Wizard Talent for Prophecy 2007, and is serving as Chair of Informal Programming for Portus 2008 as well. Her department heads include Jennifer Clack, who worked diligently on Informal Programming for Lumos, is part of the amazing Prophecy team, and is also part of the Portus team; Kristin Coleman, Meet-&-Greet veteran from Lumos, Prophecy, and Portus; and experienced Security Chief Aziza Aba Butain. These ladies and many other experienced volunteers, along with talented new blood, will continue our record of high-quality, magical events for scholars and fans.

The Board of Directors of HPEF looks forward to seeing what the next three years of fandom will bring. We look forward to the myriad activities, studies, communities, and projects that fandom has to offer. We look forward to Infinitus and ask you to visit our forums here while our website is under construction.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - Please distribute

The “Summer Of Potter” brings with it winds of change. Where will fandom take us next?

For HP Education Fanon, Inc. (HPEF), the journey continues with Portus, July 10 – 13, 2008 in Dallas, Texas, and Level Two, July 23 to 26, 2009 in San Jose, California. And in 2010….

We have received a bid for an event at the newly announced and already widely anticipated Wizarding World of Harry Potter Theme Park at Universal Studios, Orlando Florida, for July 15 -- 18, 2010. The bid team is led by Kari Phillips, who can be contacted at utkari02@ yahoo.com.

In accordance with our bid procedures, HPEF hereby issues a Call for Bids to request proposals for alternate dates or locations. Anyone interested in submitting a competitive bid for 2010 MUST contact HPEF by June 23, 2007 at hpeducationfanon@ gmail.com, and MUST submit their bid materials no later than midnight Central Time on July 15, 2007, for consideration.

Although Harry’s story reaches its final installment in “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” we at HPEF know that the phenomenon JK Rowling brought about in 1997 is far from over, and we eagerly look forward to the next chapter….

HP Education Fanon, Inc. is thrilled to announce that our website is now live and available at http://hpeducationfanon.org/ for your perusal.

It has a collection of links to past and future events, including prophecy2007 and, of course, next month's Lumos 2006, and information for those who are interested in bidding on events for 2008 and beyond.

Thanks to everyone who made this possible, and especially those who have contributed to my understanding of server-side includes, so I can edit and update the thing!

[mood |excitedexcited]

As we approach the 10th anniversary of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, it's time to reflect on all the Harry Potter phenomenon – books, films, and fandom – has become.

It began with a prophecy...and in 2007 the legendary tale will come full circle. Thus, HP Education Fanon, Inc. is very pleased to announce:

Prophecy 2007: From Hero to Legend will take place in Toronto, Canada, August 2-5, 2007. Hotel and registration information will be available soon.

Our first international event, Prophecy 2007 will encompass a number of elements, including formal programming with a focus on the development of the series and the fandom over the last ten years, along with HPEF traditions such as wizard sport, a quest, a gallery, film viewings, and some new surprises, such as the Hall of Reflection, where attendees can reflect on the past ten years with Harry Potter.

Our principal organisers for Prophecy 2007 are Vishaya Naidoo, Suzanne Fossey, Madeleine Beaupre, and Camille Kelly. Additional information about volunteering is available at the Yahoo!Group, http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Prophecy_Headquarters/

Members of the Prophecy 2007 team will be at Lumos to answer questions, accept registrations, and take volunteer contact information. Join us to remember, to reflect, and to realise what is yet to come!

Prophecy 2007: From Hero to Legend is produced under the auspices of HP Education Fanon, Inc., an educational non-profit (501(c)3) organisation committed to producing high-quality events that combine a professional and academic focus with the spirit of the Harry Potter series for scholar and fan alike. This event is unofficial and is not endorsed by Warner Bros., the Harry Potter book publishers, or JK Rowling or her literary agents.

TWH Survey from HPEF [Oct. 15th, 2005|11:29 am]
HP Education Fanon, Inc.

heidi8
We just sent a survey to everyone who registered for TWH before mid-August, but we know some people have changed email addresses since they registered, so we wanted to share the url for the survey here, too.

The survey asks questions about planning for and attending TWH, as well as your expectations for Lumos ( http://www.hp2006.org ) in Las Vegas from July 27-31 next summer.

If you attended TWH, but didn't get a link to the survey via your personal email, please click the link below to take the survey. The survey will only be live until November 8, so the sooner you take it, the better. Thanks in advance for your time, and we hope everyone enjoyed themselves and arrived home safely!

Here's the url: http://www.keysurvey.com/survey/80718/3179/

Let me know via a comment (anons are allowed) if you're having issues reading or accessing the survey.
