Well, I've spent about two days pouring through the Blueholme Journeymanne rules, and all I can say is Wow. I can't think of the last time a ruleset had me this entranced. Admittedly, there are some typos and what I think are a few omissions, but we are still a few months off before the POD becomes available, but what's here is clearly a labor of love.
First, the thing that really grabs me is the artwork. Its so evocative of those early
days, but at that same time superior in most respects. The rules themselves are simplistic and basic, but certainly very playable.
I like the insectoid Dreenoi as a PC race, what an interesting idea... and then there's the Lovecraftian suggestions as well. The idea that the 'Great Race' is responsible for the vast underground network of the world is just inspired.
Lastly, the Character Sheets by James V West just bring it all home. I love those things! All in all this is a wonderful contribution to the OSR Community.

Hey everyone.
Hey everyone. I don't know if anyone in this group is playing 5E, or using the VTT Fantasy Grounds, but if you are, I did a conversion for FG of the old Tower of Zenopus, and thought I'd share it. this is a google drive link.
I've run this module countless times in 38 years, and started several campaigns with it. It's near and dear to my heart, and I certainly want a new generation of players to share my joy of the thing, so here ya go!

Well, I'm 95% Done with my 'Tower of Zenopus' Hirst arts dungeon. Of course, its not an EXACT recreation. Table space, and the number of actual pieces I have preclude that, but I have tried to maintain the core layout, and themes. Gone are the 'empty' rooms. The thaumaturgist in room F is now a Necromancer... which makes sense due to the catacombs, and Room B now is the 'guard room' for room F. The 'Charmed' smuggler has been changed into a zombie under the necromancer's control. The tower rooms of S1 and S2 have been combined into a single room, and yes, I have an ape in a cage!!
I altered Room J just a bit, to include a 'Mimic' treasure chest, so that the spider and the mimic sort of 'work together'.

Just thought I let you all know about a little project I've been working on.
Just thought I let you all know about a little project I've been working on. Been working with Hirst Arts dungeon pieces, and am putting together a 3d dungeon of Holme's Tower of Zenopus. Pics will follow!!

Well, I discovered something new, that I didn't know before.
Well, I discovered something new, that I didn't know before... Zach, I'm sure you knew this. There is a version of "Keep on the Borderlands" that is based off of Holme's rules. That is, the monsters all have a DX (Dexterity) score, and the rules are strictly Holmes basic.
Are there any other modules out there like that? I know B1 came with the boxed set initially.
