Hikaru no Go Fanfic Prompt Challenge Community

About

hng_prompts is a weekly/fortnightly contest for drabbles and short fanfiction stories for the anime/manga series Hikaru no Go.

Each round a new prompt will be announced and authors are challenged to enter, creating a drabble or short story that is centred on the theme for that period. Drabbles have a one week deadline, one shots have a two week deadline, being longer and requiring more time. At the end of the week, a voting shall commence and banners awarded to the winners.

For the purposes of this challenge community, drabbles are considered to be less than 400 words, oneshots more than 300.

All readers are requested to be fair with their voting, reading the entries and voting for the ones they truly think are best rather than just for their friends. Attempts to rig voting will be frowned upon.

That said you are permitted to vote for your own entry if you honestly consider it worthy. But please give consideration to others.

Rules

1. Members may submit one story per contest. The shortfic and drabble challenges are counted as different contests, so members can enter both for that period. The story should be written specifically for that contest and not have been entered in contests held else where, previously, etc.
   
2. All stories should revolve around characters that have appeared / are alluded to in the Hikaru no Go series, anime/manga.
   
3. Please do not post contest entries outside of the comm until the contest is over.
   
4. Higher ratings are allowed here but please label your stories appropriately in the header.
   
5. Please be courteous to all members.
   
6. Advertisements and shout outs are permissible as part of submission entries. Please don't abuse this though, with large images, etc.
   
7. All stories should be proofread carefully before submission.
   
8. For the purposes of this challenge community, drabbles are considered to be less than 400 words, shortfic more than 300.
   
9. If the voting post goes up late, you may count that as an unofficial extension and are free to continue submitting until it is up.
   
10. Please use the following format when submitting:

Awards

Winners shall receive a banner and their story listed on the winners entry for that round.

If there are 0 entries, the contest is cancelled and a new theme will go up.
If there are 1 or 2 entries the contest will be extended for up to two weeks.
If there are 3 entries, first place will be given only.
If there are 5 entries, top three placements will be given prizes.
If there are 7+ entries, top three placements will be given prizes, and a Moderators Choice awarded as well.

Once the winners have been announced you are free to spread your drabble/oneshots far and wide.

Voting

A weighted voting system is used for 5+ entries. Readers will be requested to vote for the three fanfics that they consider best.

1st nomination will receive 5 points.
2nd nomination will receive 3 points.
3rd nomination will receive 1 point.

The points will be tallied together and the winner determined from that.

Voting will always be screened and kept private.

Moderators are not permitted to enter contests that they, themselves are running at this point in time.

That is, if moderator a, posts prompt, voting, tallies, etc for that challenge round, then mod b is permitted to enter that contest round.
